Default Meat on Ghosthunters

In October, music superstar and longtime Ghost Hunters fan Meat Loaf will join the team as a guest investigator in a special episode featuring a home in Thousand Islands, NY, one of last year’s finalist locales in the Great American Ghost Hunt contest.

can anyone explain the concept of the show to me? Is it usual for them to have guests?
I thought this was some kind of "we go to a haunted house and film spooky things" show, but I dont really get what a contest has to do with that...

Well...they had a barrel for TV shows, once they reached the bottom of that barrel they scraped the bottom of that and found bullshit underneath...that's where this show is at.

its better than that awful "most haunted", at least these guys mostly go round saying "it was just a squirral" and such. if fact they usually end up sitting the owner down and telling them the place the've been making their money from cause its "haunted" has no more ghosts then their a**e does! lol

Is that the one with the failed Blue Peter presenter Yvette Fielding and the hyper-sensitive make-up ladies who shit themselves at the sound of a fart? Yeah that's crap.

the way i read that, the show wasn't the contest, the house they went to was finalist in a contest unrelated to the show, that's how i understood it anyway

According to the my first post in the thread it'll air in October. I'm sure the locals will have access to a long term TV guide to be able to say when exactl;y

Seen the commerical for this last night, so I don't know when it will been shown over here. I'll keep an eye out since I like the Taps guys and another Ghost Hunters show on the travel channel. If I find out when it'll be shown, or even a link for the episode if Syfy shows full shows I'll post it.

It's on the Syfy channel, it use to be called Scifi. Same channel just different spelling is all. Also I think the name gave it away also.

I guess I'm first to post a review, for a change. It was broadcast twice, at 9PM and 11PM, which was good for me as my exhaustion put me suddenly and unexpectedly 'out' for the last half hour of the 9PM showing.

It was really interesting, I have to say. This house they investigated really had some action going on. (Yes, I do believe in haunted houses.) Evidently Meat has made friends with the chief investigators of Ghosthunters, as they were happy to see him join in, and it was obvious that a lot of exchange has gone on between them. In view of the fact that not all of us have seen this showing, I'll refrain from revealing the conclusion, but it was not a waste of time, and was mind-boggling at one point.

Meat took the investigation seriously, asked the right and at times good information-seeking questions, was pretty savvy about the process and seemed to absorb the nuances of the investigation easily and with great interest. He obviously had a good time, looked wonderful and relaxed, and was in great humor at mostly appropriate times. He told the tale of his first ghost hunt while in college that was hilarious, and we could think after hearing this story 'what a difference 40+ years makes'. I wouldn't be surprised if he was both invited and would want to do another house investigation in the future.

Thumbs up

I wasn't home, missed the beginning and ending but was able to watch most of the rest of the show and really enjoyed what I saw! I had set it to record at home, hopefully it did and I can see it again before too long, start to finish. It might be more prudent to postpone my comments until then, but I don't know when that will be so I'm talking now :)

I saw the part where Meat was sitting on a bed talking to the ghosts (or whatever they were), who were repeatedly lighting up the little box for him; I've never seen a GH episode where that happened so much; really impressive, like he had a rapport with them. I was further convinced of this (at least on Meat's part) shortly after, when he was walking down the hall, holding the little box I think, and saying something like "You come along with me," to the ghosts. He sounded so sincere and, well, caring toward them, and although I realize Meat is a good actor, I fully believe this was really him talking.

Two parts made me laugh out loud: where Steve blows at a spider and Tango says "Why do you do that?? You hate them and then you agitate them" in an agitated voice, lol! ..and the part where Meat says "Oh my God!!!", purposely scaring the liver out of Steve, who looked like he would need some time to recover. Oh and it was cute when Meat was saying "Go, go, go!" while putting a pencil eraser beneath a tiny little spider who was hightailing it for the ceiling.

I have not been a fan of the show like Meat is (I had never seen it until it was announced he'd be on it) but have watched it several times since and found it interesting. But it has never been so flat out entertaining as it was last night! Meat brought a fresh, joyful, gung-ho attitude, along with his typical humor, which totally made the show. And for me, he totally made the show from another, non-entertainment point of view as well. I have always been a bit of a skeptic about these kind of phenomena as presented on TV, and the main reason I was looking forward to this episode was to see Meat's reaction to the whole thing. Because whatever his prior opinion of the show, I knew if he was right there with the Ghost Hunters, on the OTHER side of my television set, he would know if the whole thing was fake. I'll never have the vantage point he did, but the next closest thing to seeing something yourself is seeing it through the eyes of someone you trust. And from what I saw last night, Meat doesn't believe the show is faked. This is wonderful, and absolutely fascinating to me! I'm not sure about Meat's water bottle; truthfully that still gives me pause, and I wonder if that was meant as a joke/prank by Meat or one or more of the team? (looking forward to seeing the show in its entirety) But in any case I have a brand new perspective on the GH show, thanks to Meat!
