Default Twelve Inch Mixes CD

I've had this CD in the drawer for a couple of years now but this morning I listenened to it for the first time and was quite surprised. None of the five tracks on the CD seems to differ from the album version. According to the booklet, it contains the Razor's Edge remix (for example). It sounded exactly like on the MATLAF album, so I compared it to an old vinyl record. While the vinyl single indeed contains the remixed version, the CD apparently does not. Mind you, it ain't a bootleg, it was released by Sony Music about 15 years ago. Is there something wrong with my ears or with the CD?

I remember Meat Loaf mentioned it in an interview with Radio 1, which they played during the intermission of the cardiff show, that he was shocked they released it because "they didn't do anything different with it"

Another excuse to try and cash in methinks

Thanks for reminding me of that interview.

I usually avoid those compilations. This is the only one I ever bought because I expected it to include alternate versions that had only been released on the vinyl singles before. Now I know that it's just a cheap compilation with a highly deceptive cover / booklet.

(By the way, in the interview, he says he wasn't born in 1947 but 1951. 15 years ago, his year of birth was 1951, now it's 1947 - maybe ten years from now he'll tell everybody that he was born in 1943? )
