Default Bootlegs

Are we allowed to talk about such things when 'certain people' are reading these messages?

Certain people? As in who? Record companies? or some obscure person that apparently goes by the name of Meat Loaf?

That obscure person is called Fire Ball here.

We all know that bootlegs exist. I don't mind talking about them.
However, I do not want to see any links or hints where to find/download bootlegs.

No I don't want to link to any bootleg sites or downloads ect, but I just wondered which ones people had or Wanted ect.

I just thought that we might not be able to discuss this subject, especially as Meat Loaf visits this forum.
I wonder what his view on the subject would be and if he's got any in his own personal collection.

My thoughts (as irrelevant as they are) on Meat Loaf Bootlegs are as follows: I buy every official version of everything from Meat that I can buy, from as many countries as possible, so I have tons of duplicate singles, the difference being the country it was printed in etc......having said that, I spend lots & lots of money on Meat (too much my wife says ) I do collect boots from the shows, if i can find them, I'm not making money off of it. I also don't trade material that is available, it would cut into the money Meat makes. So, in that light, I don't feel guilty about having Meat's bootlegs, first time I met him, i brought the boots from New York 1993, and he signed it for me !
Enough from me, just my opinion & thoughts on this subject. Pirating official albums IS wrong, no matter what the excuse !

I think there is a big difference between bootlegs and pirate copies. If there were bootlegs of a concert that had also been released as an official live album, i would nbever get one, but a recording of a live event that is not being released is diferent in my eyes. Nobody is loosing money out of it, and if a bootleg gets someone interested then companies can even make money.

Having said that, I have still never managed to get even one bootleg

Anyway, my two cents, which is probably worth considerably less than two cents!

Totally agree with you, folks !

Building my collection since 1978, catching all officals I'm able to ... and got more than 100 boots ( NO PIRATES ! ) > I love it to hear Meat live, esp. the 77-78 recordings ! By the way: Never ever sold any boots or make money with it ... only trading > that's a question of honour !

Bye from Kai

Well, in some cases the quality is not so good, but still nice to hear... Some other bootlegs are comparable with normal CD sound and some bootlegs are very terrible of quality.... but still worth of having them!!
