Q. Why post this?

I was there Wednesday but I am not going to be heartless and cruel and join this, I don't see why people can't accept the fact this was beyond Meat's control. He wanted to continue that was evident when he tried to sing Paradise twice but sadly no sound came out. This artical has left me totally livid personally speaking !!

I think that is just a disgrace - think we should all leave positive and supportive comments about Meat after that particular article (surprised there weren't any) and say shame on you! (wiggling my finger at them). Wonder if the guy who is starting this is a member here or on .net.....

Thats a disgrace. It typifies the compensation culture we live in today - look after number 1 and to hell with everyone else - no regard for Meat and what he went through that night. Meat tried so hard to give us a good show despite his obvious suffering.
I'm grateful that we got to see Meat at all even though the show was cut short
It makes me almost ashamed to be a north eastener.
If this idiot goes ahead with this action I wonder if Meat would ever want to come back to the North East. I hope Meat relaises that this is just one a..hole and is not how his true fans feel.

It's a ridiculous brou ha ha imo .. and the last thing I'd do is email anyone to put them straight. The Northern Echo on-line has been a breeding ground since last week for the disaffected and disgruntled, all whipping themselves into a feeding frenzy. They are all hopping on with comments about him being intoxicated .. utter rubbish .. although I noticed that most of those loudest in their vocally complaining outside the arena that night were falling-down-drunk themselves. I've never seen as many drunks at a Meat concert before .. one guy was falling on his ass every thrid step as he almost crawled down them from the venue.

The "organiser" of this fight won't listen to any of us who were there, who saw a man giving his all before he finally succombed in despair to the paralysis of his vocal chords on stage, and who applauded him for what he managed to give us before he had to leave the stage.

But if this guy receives a load of messages trying to take him to task, (however well intentioned they are), he might seek out Meat sites to have a pop .. and whilst this is a matter for the promoter and insurers to deal with, Meat surely doesn't need such nonsense brought to websites dedicated to him, and where he might be expected to receive simply good wishes, support at a very difficult time, and just see that his fans appreciate him and want to see him back where he belongs, and where he intends to be.

Once a few have the scent of blood they won't be changed by us. Let them get on with it I say .. they don't have a leg to stand on anyway .. but let's keep it away from here and any other sites which support Meat. Doing anything which might draw the disaffected here won't be support.

I can't belive it.. What kind of a-hole that fella is?

Kathryn is right.. That b**ch should be grateful that he even saw Meat on stage.. And it's not Meat's fault if he get sick..

I hope he's get well soon and get back on stage when he feels like it..

Without wishing to take sides in this, the argument would be that Meat was sick before he got on stage, and whilst I'm sure Meat felt he could get through the entire concert, he must have known there was a chance that he couldn't.

I don't know why everyone's keen on giving this guy such a roasting. He clearly feels he didn't get his money's worth, and if indeed Meat was on stage for less than this 1 hour period that everyone mentions, then he probably has legal backing for a refund.

I don't see what any of that has to do with not being a Meat fan, or not wishing him all the best for his recovery, etc etc. It's the promoter that will be issuing any refunds (and they in turn would claim on their insurance). It's not as if the guy is asking Meat to pay him personally.

Personally I wouldn't ask for a refund, but I can see where he's coming from.

Just read it thanks for the link Dave!

I think there's a lot of negativity around in every country these days, I was gutted to hear about Meat Loaf being ill like all of you here. I believe we are all human beings we all make mistakes, and, I am a sensitive girl and, I try to treat people the way I wish to be treated, and, I truely symphathise with the Loaf for putting 100% into his Concert even though he quit during a song, he gave it his best shot, and, if he is unwell, unfortunately yes, he will have to look after number 1, for his own sake, his families sake and for the fans so he can give us all a great performance.

Maybe it could have been handled better, but, as I say no one's perfect there I said it! (hehe!)

Sorry you guys aren't going to any gigs just yet, give him time he will hopefully perform again.

As for refunds, well I'm not a concert goer! (rather buy a Dvd boring I know), but, I suppose you should be entitled to a refund.

I was supposed to see Billy Joel and Elton John a few year's back with my dad (aww! bless), and, they had to cancel, because Billy fell ill, I don't think we got a refund but we did get a written letter back from Elton's Managemnt. So, maybe the tenth Street crew should send out a proper letter or something or publish something on Meat Loaf.net. If there already hasn't been one!

The guy hasn't got a leg to stand on. His facts are wrong to start with, based on the timestamps on the photos I took that night Meat was on stage for at least 68 minutes. As has been suggested he's not going to listen to anyone telling him that though and emailing him really wont' do anything but fan the flames, I'd suggest we leave well alone.

but everyone just think about i'm a student and i haven't got that much money i spent £50 on my ticket and of course isn't Meats fault the man isn't having a go at Meat he is on about the arena, and the time he was on he wasn't at his best, i had been looking forward to that night for months and that happened. Like i said it's obviously not Meat's fault but the arena should refund tickets even if it's not the full amount it's no skin off the arena or Meats nose.

It's nothing to do with the Arena, or Meat. It's the promoters who effectively hire the Arena to stage the show that they have effectively hired Meat to perform.

68 minutes for just 6 songs and change?

If the versions played on this leg are close to the versions on the previous tour, then Break It, Took the Words, Pigs and Lemon were rather short, and the other two must have been extended quite significantly. (unless that list is wrong, of course)

That's the minimum ... the first pic I took was of Dave luther during All Revved Up and the last was of Meat during the intro to Paradise, but I know I then stood for a while wathcing the rest of the intro to Paradise.

Why is everybody defending Meat when no-one's suggesting he is personally culpable? The problem this guy has seems to be with the promoter and ticketmaster. After all Meat has himself declared himself a 'fan' of a certain songwriter he's been simultaneously legally entangled with.

I've paid hefty prices for concert tickets for other acts doing shorter shows than Meat's and 1h15 isn't an unreasonably short gig, but much has been said in the press and reviews about an 'epic 2hour-plus show', which is what people bought tickets expecting.
Also the Wembley show where his heart condition reared it's ugly head a few years back was rescheduled despite playing a similar length of time.
If anyone invests in a product they don't feel is up to scratch they're entitled to be annoyed, and many will attempt to claim refunds from the people they bought it from.
The article implies that the proposed legal action is directed at 'Kennedy Street Enterprises' not Meat or his management, so I would say it's not really in Meat's hands. I am concrned however, that his reputation is being damaged by this, certainly in the North-East, and this being left unresolved may affect future record/ticket sales in the region. I would suggest that in the long run it's best for both Meat Loaf and the concert goers for a solution to be reached with the promoter
This really is a seperate issue to the Big Man's health which obviously is far more important, and as long as that cyst is harbouring no nasty surprises, I'm sure we'll see him back in RAH-form or better. Get well soon Meat!

Still, looking at the list and going from what I've seen on the previous European leg, I would rather estimate it at, say, 50 minutes.

But it wasn't 50 minutes, it was over an hour, I'd reckon closer to an hour and a quarter.

I just read the comments from another article in the aforementioned newspaper and the comments there are really....well...are appalling. Not only does it hurt Meat's reputation and tarnish his image but if anyone reading those comments were non-Meat fans, imagine what people must think the fans are like if one was to base their opinions on those comments. That's why I originally mentioned posting postive comments after todays article (not emailing the lawsuit guy) because surely there are lots more supportive things to say than the accusations and assumptions previously posted there. I think in a way this holds true as with any cause. We can easily write and share postive thoughts comfortably within our own circles but to really make a difference it means taking a chance and sharing with others.

And then it came to mind that All Coming Back was mentioned, which would make it eight songs and change. I can see the concert reaching 60 minutes now.

I was at Newcastle, and I had the concert at around 1hr 15.
I dont see how anyone can demand a refund when quite a lot of artist only do 1H30 TOTAL - and then they charge more for the tickets too - Its pathetic, and how on earth can this person call himself a fan when hes doing this????????????
