Hey all!

Did everyone get a copy of the "Meat Needs YOU!" advert I made?!

If I missed you out and you would like one to freely distribute, just email me your address and I'll send you one!

I'd love to know what everyone thinks about it! So if you'd be SOO kind and give me some feedback on my efforts for the big guy, it would be much appreciated!

Yours, Greavzyboy

I don't have a sunroof, I drive a 15 year old subaru mini jumbo and I'm driving in the Netherlands. I have nothing but an old radio/cassette player in the car. But you just wait untill my son tapes CHSIB on cassette. I'll have my windows open and I'll scare the sh*t out of every Dutchy I encounter And I'll cruise the "polders"over here, is great to relax that way. Polders is lots of flat country where you can drive real fast because you hardly ever see any other cars around... It's my way of letting off steam (don't know the correct English phrase).
The gas-pedal way down... Meat music just has that effect...

Yep. First a blank mail with subject "meat needs you" and after that I got the pic you made. Was cool. Did you actually search the memberslist for all email-adresses? Man... that's a great effort. You should have asked for R.'s permission to make you admin for a short time. As an admin, you can mail all the members with just one push of a button. At least: I own a YaBB forum, and I can... This is a Php board also, so I guess R. can too...

Checked Amazon UK sales ranking again, the album is still #7 (#2 in the pre-releases) but the single has gone down to #2494 (guess everyone's gone to HMV *LOL* and it's still showing as not released until the 21st)

HMV update their chart every Monday so they won't show it until then.

Default The New Zealand situation

Hi Meat,

Apparently the international release date of the single "Couldn't Have Said It Better" is 21st April...I assume this includes New Zealand, because I have seen New Zealand and this date mentioned before. Please correct me if this is wrong. I went into a shop in New Zealand today (Saturday), and three days before this date they know absolutely nothing about it. That is to say, they don't even know one exists. I thought they would at least have been able to tell me that it would be out on the 21st. I will try that particular store, and others on Monday (the 21st), and if they still know nothing, I will post here again. I hope the single does well in NZ too.

And great to talk to you in the BBC Radio chat. THANK YOU for answering my question.

Shane.

Goodmorning everyone in Meat-land,

Just keep buying those singles, would like to know just how it is going with the charts!

Greavzyboy, very nice work! Have send a mail to everyone I could think of. Thank you so much!

Will be sending the same emails to stations today, ofcourse, that is so easy, not much work at all! Hope it helps, most important part is STILL getting people to buy the single at a store or at www.hmv.co.uk
Do think that is why amazone sales have dropped, HAS to be the reason.

MB, SO happy to 'meet' you, you were talking about a 'mantra' kind of thing, weren't you! Well, I have been doing this for weeks, just wasn't aware I was doing it! So we'll soon find out just what the power of the mind can do. And since we've also done our bit on the practical side of this, I feel good about the oucome..

Great day to you all,

Mariella

It is time for no. 1 - I Testify!

Hi, friends! Back again for another day of "Emailing for Meat." (Is that a bit like "Dialing for Dollars"??) (Have you heard of that show? It was on US TV quite a while ago. Don't know if it made it around the world, though. ) )

Mariella: I'm SO happy to have finally met you, too. I've been lurking around here for a LONG time now and have always loved reading your posts! It's nice to be friends now.

Yes, I was talking about something like a Mantra, although a bit longer than one or two words. I believe strongly in the power of people and what they can do when they work together. I also believe in the power of the mind and if we can find a way to hook into a combination of motivated, active people and motivated, determined minds, I think there is nothing we can't accomplished!! Heaven knows, we're all motivated here to help Meat take this single AND album to Number 1, where it (and he) deserves to be!!

Sorry. Am I sounding too Californian this morning??

You must be SO excited, Mariella, about going to the Amsterdam show on the 23rd AND getting your Meat & Greet with the man, himself!! I'm excited for you. I hope you'll come back and tell us all about it!

Hey, Shane, welcome aboard! I'm sure Meat will be very interested in knowing that the single isn't even being talked about yet in NZ. Hope they won't have the same problems there that they had in the UK this week!! Keep us all posted. Maybe we'll have to start another campaign there, after the UK one.

You know, Shane, I have something with Pearl for you but I've been trying to figure out how to get it to you. The file is large, so I'll have to work something out. How do you normally pass large files with people??

Greavzyboy! Your poster was terrific! Based on the original drawing!! You really did a bang-up job, I thought! Thanks for sharing it with everyone!

Welcome Draven! Nice to have new folks still joining us here. Right now, in addition to trying to get more people to buy the CDs, we are emailing radio stations and TV music stations to get them to play the single, as Mariella was talking about in her post. Join in the fun.

Sin, when you join us today: I'm So sorry you're going to be away when Meat's doing the CD signing. But I'm sure if he's doing one, he'll be considering others. It, too, helps to sell the record. It lets people know that CHSIB is out there!! It's a wonderful opportunity, isn't it?!! If I hear anything, I'll let you know.

I'm so envious of those of you who are playing the CD and the single around your towns! I didn't get the German release of CHSIB, but was waiting for the UK release and of course, I'm sitting here, tapping my toes, waiting for the singles to come. But I know it'll be a while. How are people reacting when they hear it from your cars? Have you had many people ask you about what's playing? It's a great idea and a FUN way to let people know it's there!

I have a couple of questions that occurred to me over the night. Hope you don't mind.

1) In Meat's message yesterday, he mentioned "The Box" and was quite pleased that he was rated number 1 there. But what is The Box? Is it a music program? Or a music station? Is it like MTV or VH1? Why is this such an important thing to Meat? I'm just curious because I've never heard of it before.

2) Also in Meat's message (can you tell I went back overnight and reread it again?! :P ) he talks about "they." They didn't get it. They didn't think he could sell singles." Who do you all think they is? Is it the record company? Do you think it might be the actual radio and/or TV stations? Could it be the music sellers around the country?? What do you think? He isn't specific and I was wondering who, exactly, was holding up the works here and putting us to work (not that I mind that)?

Well, I'm off to begin a day of emailing. It's only 2:40 a.m. here in California, so I should be able to get a lot done today. I think I'd better use my other email name and address, though, don't you think? There's no way they can connect the two, if they are totally different, is there?

Oh, by the way, I was talking to my new neighbor, a very nice lady from Greece. We haven't had much to talk to each other about--hard to find things in common, I guess. I don't know how it got started, but somehow the conversation got around to Meat. And would you believe it--SHE's a fan of his, too. She had no idea he was even coming out with a new album. So, I told her all about what we're trying to do here and she was going to go right back into her house, up to her computer and buy some copies of CHSIB!!

You know, I think I've stopped being amazed at connecting with Meat's fans in strange places! They're everywhere! You just never know!! So, I guess it's best to not only keep typing here, but keep talking, too!!

As Chris keeps saying in his posts, "Every little helps..."!

Talk with you all later. Keep us informed on how you're doing and what you're finding out, as the day goes on. These updates keep us ALL going here.

Take care.

Hey MBrevard!

Yes, "The Box" is a digital music channel where you ring a hotline, vote for the video you want and then (in a matter of time) they play it!

I got "CHSIB" on the box 5 times in 1 hour yesterday! Its a shame more people havent got access to digital TV, or else Meat really WOULD be on 24/7!!

Thanks, Greavzyboy! What a cool thing! Wish we had something like that over here!

How in the world did you manage to get him on FIVE times in ONE hour?? Does anybody at the station monitor what airs?? Are they willing to show the same video again and again and again, if people call in??

This is great! More folks gotta start calling in, too. Do you have any idea what percentage of your country does have digital TV right now? 50%? Less than 50%

Just curious. More and more people over in the States are switching to digital cable--OR they're picking up the small satellite dishes. Guess if we had the station here, it would be on both, most likely!

Keep up the good work!!! :P

That's a good percentage!

Keep calling that Hotline today, if you can. You know, the more people who SEE the video and HEAR the song might then begin calling, themselves, and requesting it!!

Go for it, Greavzyboy! Start an avalanche there!

Meat 24/7
Sounds like heaven!!

They've already started!!

I haven't phoned in once this morning and its already been on 4 times in the past couple of hours! (I have it playing in the background, and then leg it to my TV when I hear the line "And you say nothing at all..."!)
I'm getting some real exercise now that its being played all the time!

Whooo! All right!! Let us know how it's going, as the day progresses. Okay?

And speaking of getting people to hear the song, is anyone out there still going around to the record shops and requesting that CHSIB be played? You know, if the stores are better stocked now, and someone walks into it, hears the song playing in the background, and likes it, it's an instant sale!!! That's the way to do it.

In the record shops in the UK, do they also have TVs going, playing music videos? They do that over here in some of them. If that's the case, request the video (if it'll play on their player with the copyright protection). That's another great way to pick up sales for Meat!! Just a thought...

Back to emailing... Wish I could do more from here...

MB, YES! will tell you all about the 23th!!!

Great news about The Box, we have that too in Holland, but with another playlist, Meat Loaf isn't on it yet. But next week...

Does anyone know if I can call The Box in the UK?
If so, could I please have the phonenumber and clipcode?

Just back from Hounslow - No single to be had anywhere why

Information about Album woolworths Album def. Monday 14/15 copies only
HMV Didn't have a clue about Album

MVCAlbum def. Monday 1 reserved for me leaving 13 only to be sold

Virgin Album Monday 14/15 copies only

Woolworths Kingston same story no single

How can we win when we're faced with odds like this in Hounslow and surrounding areas 14/15copies is not whats needed for the album and quite blatantly told the stores so. Woolworths were very helpful especially Annette (said I'd give her a mention)

morning guys.
sorry i'm a little late today.I always sleep late after a nights singing .
I did some promo at work last night.I played CHSIB at the begining of the night.Half way through I played Unsaid. At the end of the night,Carol and I sang Anything For Love as usual, then played CHSIB again. At the begining of the night there were not many people in the pub,but at the end it was really busy and the crowd went mad when we played it the second time
The three times I played the Meat tracks,I told everybody this is/this is from the brand new single from Meat Loaf CHSIB which is available at Virgin megastore. In the announcment at the end of the night,I told everybody about the mistake made by the record company and that Meat is really mad that people can't get copies and stressed that the only place you can buy it in Liverpool is Virgin megastore.
I'm working tonight, tomorow afternoon and tomorrow night,so i'm gonna do the same thing all weekend .

Greavzyboy, great poster.Well done.Everybodys working really hard and i'm sure Meat really apreciates everybodys efforts.Meat Loaf fans really are the best fans in the world.

Keep going everyone.
Let's do this for the big guy.
