887 members as of today. I think this is going to be a rather embarrassing flop. Which is a shame.

Maybe there's some who'll download the song who haven't joined the campaign.

I wonder how many people will download the song because they really like it and how many will be those who already own the CD but will download the song anyway in order to "support" Meat. I would like to know how representative the result will be as to how popular the song actually is.

people don't always buy a single just because they like it, in fact I'm sure with the likes of X Factor's winning entry in any given year the reason to buy that single is to be seen as following the trend.

The reality is you will never know who is downloading it for what reason. I think a realistic figure for the number of downloads on the D-Day will be 1000 to 2000 and I would not be surprised if some people download the song through multiple different methods as some kind of deluded "support" type thing. I would be surprised, and pleasantly so, if the song made it anywhere near the Top 40.

That would be a good figure. I think realistically though it will be much less than that. Perhaps a few hundred.

a bit of positivity would be nice...

btw, is it wise to select one day for the download, or would the time frame applicable to the chart entry be better??

it may encourage multiple downloads... who knows

And would you say that 'Like A Rose' is a part of some trend?

i don't know what it is in the scheme of things but I do know that, based on the figures so far, it'll have a close to a thousand or so extra downloads of it on June 14th.

So it will have some impact, whether it's enough to be noticed on the chart is another thing

Does anyone know if those outside the UK can download it? I think they were trying to fix it so we could.

Hey guys, i've been doing some research and the top 5 Radio stations in the UK are BBC2, BBC4, BBC1, Heart FM, and Talksport. We should try to target these somehow and get the word out on Radio.

You'll definitely be wasting your time with Radio 4 and Talksport.

Talksport is just talking about sport. Radio 4 is various dramas, plays and other spoken stuff. Neither have anything to do with music.

Radio 2 would be the best bet as Chris Evans, Ken Bruce, Steve Wright and Simon Mayo are all Meat Loaf fans. That's pretty much all of their daytime line-up. Jeremy Vine is more of a Smiths and 80's man I think!!

Someone here must have a link to one of these guys?

I'm not part of the campaign but this is how you can best contact these guys:

Ken Bruce email: ken.bruce@bbc.co.uk
Steve Wright
chris.evans@bbc.co.uk

This question has probably already been asked but is there a clean version they can potentially use for airplay?? I hope so.
I looked on I-tunes and it had the Clean Lyrics label but the preview has the F word in it?

lol ... ta for the info... but you made me laugh with this line... i'm in silly enough mode today for it to make me think of Peter in denial of Jesus... lol ... PLUS Jesus Christ SuperStar was on tv last night... so i'm still Ted Neeley's Jesus-upped ...

i think "ta for the info" kept it on topic ... nenh ? ... lol ...

thanks very much AndrewG, I had actually already been to the website and emailed all those guys, but thanks anyway. Nice to know they are all Meat fans. Hopefully we'll get some mentions.

Good point. Most artists who use profanity in their lyrics come out with a clean version just for radio, if there isn't one in this case then they might not play it all

Yeah I just hope the version Vicki pointed out is actually available for them to get ahold of?? Radio 2 won't play it otherwise I would have thought. I can't see why they wouldn't mention the campaign though. Surely if lots of different people bombard the email addresses with it, it would get picked up??
