With the amount of effort people are putting into posting about this idea instead we could have had an album done already.

Well, we're versatile...we can do both...in fact, working on this even as I post...whether it will ever see the light of the day is another story altogether...

How could you mix these two songs into a medley. My mind cannot possibly conceive of such a random idea.

What about a camera or phone with an audio recording facility? This can then be uploaded to the PC and converted to an MP3

How about if I put the vocal tracks from the 2 tracks I recorded on my website and then anyone can use them for whatever backing track they like?

Lol - if it does, it will be only 45 seconds long. Otherwise, what's the point?

two thoughts here:

1) It would be good if we could get an official word from the MLUKFC to see what the people in charge think of this or even might add a subforum for planning and posting the single tracks or even offer a spot on the website to upload the tracks, so theyre all in one place.

2) any idea of a decent free audio mixing programme? I used to work with "Samplitude" but cant get that one to work anymore.
So any link to a programme that can mix two audio tracks into one would be appreciated.

Mixcraft is great for this, but you will need to pay more money after it's 2 week unlimited mix-down to MP3 deal is over if you wanna keep it forever:

Another one if FREE but it is poor, Audacity:

Right then.

First of all, I apologize to all those people who jumped down my back about having such a deadline for a project and trying to be firm about it. The fact of the matter, in my experience as I've seen from many fan recordings I've done (mainly of musicals, don't laugh), is that if you don't give people a firm time frame for at least certain aspects of the project -- if not the whole thing -- they'll think they've got donkey's years to get it down and arse around until they can't be bothered anymore. Sorry for my attempt at structure. I can loosen the belt a bit, but some deadlines are still going to have to be there to get this done. I hope you all understand.

That rant over, I do think we should hear what the heads at MLUKFC have to say about this. I mean, I know it started on the forum and at least one mod disputed the need for a guideline thread, so I need to know if anyone else has problems with the project that are more major than that.

Signing off till then,
WIC2LU

You jump on a back and down a throat, get your saying correct

I'd still like to know if the recordings are going to be put to disc (and who's going to pay for it?) or put on a website for all to download? Because if it's going to be put on a website then why the urgency for a deadline? surely anyone at anytime can submit a recording without any pressure to do so.

The recordings are going to be put to disc, which will be independently financed. No website release until the project is completed.

Call me a skeptic, a cynic or anything else ending in 'ic' (not ick ) but you're the one who tried raise $6Million for an independent production of Dance Of The Vampires I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd like to know a bit more details.

the lack of mluk staff comments suggests to me that this isnt something they are considering so this venture may not actually come to fruition. So forgive my ignorance but why is a website with downloads being rejected???

can we just say....go ahead and record things and when we see what we've got we'll make decisions what to do with it, aiming, as previously suggested, for October...disks / websites....things that can be decided when we know what we have and what best suits the project. I'm really interested in hearing people's contributions. if we don't make a disk, everyone's still had fun and we can still listen to what people have come up with.

ps - please stop scaring Zina...it's a crazy and unnecessary achievement

I don't know person who has put himself in charge and I don't really know who put him in charge but I am out of this completely if, in fact, he is...too much like Stalin's Russia for me...

The lack of notices or comments from admins/mods to me suggests maybe that they are indifferent to this project. I am sure somebody would have said something by now if it was completely against the policy/rules.

And I think downloads are much easier than making CD's etc...but time will tell if there are not that many rules and regulations...
