I think it's actually possible, as long as Meat brings his Rocktelz show to the West End, and Jimmy makes some serious headway with the Bat musical.

I spoke to Jim recently (publicly on his facebook page) and he said he was "feverishly" writing on the book for Bat.

He's also mentioned shortly prior to that that they were getting into the casting stage.

If both Meat and Jim were both based in the west end at the same time, I see no reason why it couldn't happen.

Thats good news. I guess the only thing I have to wonder is how the reception to the musical will be compared to Meat doing his thing. And if they are both on at the same time in the same general area you have to wonder where people will go...

I suspect Meat will be retired from the stage by the time the musical opens.

This is in response to an earlier post that compared Wicked to WWRY and RoA

How? WWRY and RoA would come under the 'jukebox musical' heading, but the other does not, and mr Stephen Schwartz would not be happy at all lmao

PS I love WWRY as well, but just got a bit offended when Wicked was lumped in with that and RoA

Wicked is the best musical I've seen that has been made/released this side of 2000. To try to debunk that I think is ridiculous, even coming from Steinman, sorry. There have been plenty of people who have had inside knowledge etc over the years. Still, there is no musical. And I frankly find this over confidence talk we've had over the years over the actual end product a bit stupid to put it mildly. There is nothing wrong with being ambitious and having grand ideas but to start comparing to musicals which actually have been released and are very successful quite amateurish sounding. Not professional.

Okay, one last post on the subject, for clarity:

Jim did not compare the BAT musical to Wicked. I did. I didn't do this to defame Wicked, I did it to illustrate a point of contrast. It wasn't intended to be derogatory, it was just a frame of reference to what has been popular in musical theater over the past ten years. The point I was trying to make was this: BAT will be VERY different to all of the above.

As to the validity of the source. We've done that part already!

Peace,

Doode.

Meat mentioned the musical on a comment on his most recent post. He didn't say much other than giving an idea on dates when we might expect to see it in theatres.
