After much back and forth, it seems that I can resell the tickets.

I have sent many emails back and forth with Ticketmaster on this matter, but they strangely didn't mention this possibility before now.

So I will probably put the tickets up for sale here soon.

From Ticketmaster:

Quote:
Unfortunately, we are not able to change the name on the tickets as they have to be registered with the card holders details for data protection reasons.

As you, the card holder, will not be attending the event you will need to provide the person going with a letter of authorisation. In this short letter, please state:

1) The name of the venue, the name of the event and date of the event
2) Your confirmation number
3) Your name and address
4) The name and address of the person collecting the tickets
5) The last 4 digits of the credit card
6) The area and seat details (if applicable)
7) That you authorise the person going to collect the tickets that are booked by you.

You will then need to please sign the letter.

The person collecting the tickets will then simply need to produce the letter at the venue when they get there, and they will also need to take some form of identification for themselves.

It's a shame you cannot go but good to know that you finally got an answer from Ticketmaster! I would love to buy them from you when you put them up for sale. Kind regards, Tregaye

I have received some PM 's about the tickets, and have now asked the first of those who contacted me if he wants the tickets.

I will await a response from that person, and after that you're next on the list Tregaye.

By the way:
Ticketmaster has said that it will be possible that someone else pick up the tickets, and I will send the buyer a Letter of Authorisation to do so, but it is the buyer who must take the risk of it will work.

So a potential buyer will have to decide whether they want to take that risk or not.

So sorry you won't be able to make it, I'm sure you were very much looking forward to it

But thanks for clearing up the issue of re-selling M&Gs, it comes up a lot!

We have booked M&G-tickets for the show in Hamburg, Germany. It's not nearly as good seats, but a good consolation

Glad to hear you've managed to sort an alternative out

Can you contact the ticket office and ask the manager if he will accept the letter?
I'm sure it would be OK if they are given prior notification. Unless the manager is an awkward git

To whoever buys them, I'm sure there won't be a problem but it is probably worth calling the venue, telling them the situation and just being sure that you have everything to satisfy what they want to see - ultimately it's the venue you're dealing with on the day.

Back in 2010 there was a monumental c*ck up with our Cardiff tickets and the promotors called the venue to let them know what had happened and what needed to be done, so when we arrived they knew exactly who I was and just got on with it without any arguments. Venues are pretty good so long as you keep them informed!

Bear in mind with M&Gs that it's usually a case of waiting by the box office until a member of the tour staff comes out and sorts out the tickets and other M&G stuff. On the day the venue generally have little to do with the M&G itself.

Usually the M&G coordinator comes out with a list of names, and calls them out handing over the tickets, passes etc. This is the point that the person who'd bought Roomster's M&G would need to present the letter of authorisation ... not to the venue but to the M&G coordinator.

Of course, this is based on previous tours and this year the organisation could well be different.

Ticketmaster wrote that they have a list of venues that should accept the letter of authorisation.

LG Arena in Birmingham is on the list.

The list:

I have always had my package tickets in the UK and USA issued along with the backstage pass etc by the person managing the M&G who is nothing to do with either TM or the box office, and not collected them from the BO. The box office have never performed any function except a point of reference at which to gather; the M&G co-odinator brings the tickets along with the rest of the stuff. You may be asked for ID, and will be expected to sign the "I won't sue Meat's ass if I fall over my own daft feet" disclaimer .. but again, a letter of authorisation should be enough. (If whoever buys this wants me to, I can pass the info on the the appropriate person)

I have used straight tickets bought by someone else which I have had to pick up from the Box Ofice, and with a letter of authorisation have had no problems

sorry to interrupt but something is not quite clear to me as i read through this topic, in 2010 i had my ticket in hand when i arrived at the venue and there i got the m&g pass and the other stuff, now when i purchased my m&g i was told that i should collect the ticket from the box office, so i thought i'll collect the ticket when i arrive to Birmingham on april 11th and than attend the concert the day after but now i'm confused a little, so should i collect the ticket from the BO the day before or forget about it and i'll get it from the person who hands the passes and stuff?? :)

I remember having my show ticket in hand for the 2010 tour too but I think that this time around it's going to be as Caryl describes.

The M&G co-ordinator will have the tickets for us to collect on the day of the show but I imagine that if it's anything different they will let us know in the email they send out with the instructions on what time to meet and everything.

Am I right in saying that your concert ticket is included with the M&G?

In the UK the ticket is included as part of the package, however I'm not sure if this is the case with the German or Irish shows.

For the UK shows announced so far, the ticket is included in the M&G price and will be provided on the day of the show. Anything ahead of the receipt of the email we've been promised around 5 days before the show is really speculation, based on experiences of previous meet and greets it's probably fairly accurate specualtion but we'll not know 100% for sure until the emails are received.

For the European shows as I understand it, the M&Gs were provided as an upgrade option and you have to have purchased your ticket seperately, so you'll either have that in hand prior to the show, or will need to collect it form the box office on the day if that's the option you selected.

For the yet to go on sale Irishshows, it's back to speculation again, although I'd guess that tickets will be provided on the day of the show prior to the M&G as per the other UK shows.

The tickets are now sold.

I hope you'll be able to obtain some other good tickets Tregaye.
