Took one last peek here before going downstairs...

Yes, looks like he's off the chart this week, Trulli! But don't worry. He'll be back and stronger than ever!!

Tim!!!! You KNOW how I feel about you, mister!!! :P

Thanks for stopping by to say hi!! Can't wait for your email!! I LOVE good news--and could use some, actually!!!

You're lucky that you don't HAVE to pay attention to the charts, but only enjoy the music, you know!! FireBall isn't that lucky!!!

Talk with you very soon, I hope!!

Bye, all.

Hey Trulli, the Dr Fox chart is the Hit 40 UK chart, here's their website http://www.hit40uk.com/home.php

It's not really an official chart, it's sponsored or run by Woolworths so I think it goes by their sales (does anyone know if they've actually started selling Meat?) and it might go on airplay too, but I can't remember, as far as I know none of the stations this chart is broadcast on is playing Meat so that's why they haven't mention him.

#4 on the official album chart is good news though

meat is still #2 on the rock singles chart - remember that he isn't a pop artist. you can't compete with the amount of promotion that these slick pop acts and boy groups (i refuse to say "bands") get. i was so amazed that meat was able to break out of his genre and make it into the pop charts for a while, with hardly any promotion (in comparison)

it made me sick to listen to the charts...did you notice they didn't even play a 5 second clip like they did for the other artists on the album chart? absolutely sick. radio stations are practically encouraging the death of real music. which is why meat needs to keep on rocking!

(okay - rant over!)

Well who ever was in charge of promoting the new single most definately should get the sack. The same goes for the album. I have seen one advert on television for the new album. Nothing in the papers. He should have been on the saturday morning shows like smtv or cduk or the saturday show not elusive heaven and earth or richard and judy. The only time I saw him on tv was on totp and liquid news. Like I have said earlier I work with hundreds of people and almost all I asked had not heard the single. I know someone else going to one of the concerts in November so naturally I asked her what she thought of the single but she had not heard it either. I'm not being funny but surely the pr people should know that they have to work twice as hard to promote meat as he doesn't fit the profile that people seem to think we want.

I agree trulli. I feel sorry for Meat, all this hard work he has done. The record company suck, why bother only releasing 6000 singles, like what is the point, the single cant do well with only 6000 copies being released. I think Meat should release a song like "Your Right, I Was Wrong" next, its a beautiful song and only 3:44 long, perfect length to be played on radio stations.

Hi Raptor,
The single CHSIB will be re-released in the UK in a few weeks.
I am sure there will be enough copies then. So until then we just have to focus on getting the song on the playlists. This isn't over yet!!

Great day to you,

Mariella

Bit late posting (busy weekend).
Am I missing something here?
The album,No 4?
Erm,i've got it at No 2 .
How many different charts are there?
I read the charts in the Sunday People (page 12).
it lists CHSIB (yes, the album) as No 2.No 1 is Madonna, but they have a picture of Meat instead of her .
Can anyone clear this up.
Either way, well done Meat.Although it's not the result we wanted,it's still pretty damn impresive .

This is what I got out of the BBC Radio 1 charts-

Week the single was released (ending 4/20)-
CHSIB single
# 31
# 1 Rock chart

Week the album was released (ending 4/27)-
CHSIB album
#4
# 1 Rock chart

CHSIB single
off the top 40
#2 Rock chart

Does this look right, correct me if I'm wrong.

Interestingly enough, scroll down on the Rock album chart and take a look at #22. It's freakin BOOH, still there after all these many years!!!

While some might say Meat is back, I really don't think he ever left! LOL

Thanks Tbuck.
It's strange that my newspaper lists it at No 2 .
Does anybody else get the People? (or have you all got better taste )Just to confirm that i'm not going mad .
Still,No 4 is still a really good starting position for somebody who hasn't done a studio album for eight years .And has to contend with acts who are directly designed to sell to teeny bopers.
It was irritating for Meat to be outsold by Madonna in the UK charts after her Anglophillic comments that British people are lazy .I guess there are too many Madonna fans here that don't mind being used as doormats .Trendy at any cost eh.

Flying Mouse,
the "People" you refer to, is that a newpaper insert thing, small magazine type? If so we get it here. I like #2 better than #4, LOL.

I agree with you whole heartedly, this album has done great considering the current sorry state of popular music. He's competing with Madonna and Justin Timberlake, go figure. Will they be remembered in the future as great artists? Maybe Madonna, tho she's not my cup o' tea, Justin... nahhhh. Meat still has an album on the the top 40 rock albums that was released over 25 years ago!
