Here's for hoping that a professional webdesigner will take a look at the result then. Not impling that Meat and the rest of the band are bad at webdesign, but Dreamweaver does produce some awful HTML code...

Depending on what you are doing. Personally, I shiver at the mess Frontpage creates in the source code. I don't need no stinking commands to place an image.

I've been using Frontpage and haven't had any problems with it :)
But I've heard a lot of good things about Dreamweaver ... which one
do you guys recommend

I personally liek the editor in netscape when i have to use one

Although i cannot grasp most of the WYSIWYG programs and much prefer simple text files in notepad!!

Just as an addendum: I have found aprogram called Limon which is freeware and creates online albums - very good if people ahve tour pictues!! Will try and find the link.

Last couple of websites I've made are all done in Textpad. No what-you-see-is-whay-you-get-but-don't-look-at-the-sourcecode-cause-you-might-not-like-what-you-see program for me. Dreamweaver, Frontpage, etc, all produce code which is barely readable, not compliant to any standard (I mean: since when does a <table> have a height property?).
Whenever I make a website I try to make it work in both IE and Mozilla/Netscape - or just plain old (valid) XHTML 1.1 Transitional with CSS. If I produce valid HTML and CSS, and one of these browsers decides not to render it poperly - tough luck.

SO True, Chris! As part of my job as a school librarian, I've been trained in Dreamweaver, Frontpage and Novus EDU and I still find it light years easier (and less frustrating!) to just write my own code on notepad. Those "easy" programs seem to take a great deal of effort, then the result is never as satisfying as you could do with some basic html coding in notepad. I do a webpage for my school, but I am required to do it with a program called Novus EDU and I feel like I would have a much better handle on things if I could just write it all myself with html.

At uni we had to use frontpage for a project and I hated it. The code itproduced even for simple pages was so overly complex that it p*ssed me off!!

Also does anyone else have trouble scanning the code from frontpage. Generally i scan throough the finished file to check i have remembered everything (I am a begger for not closing tabs!!!!!) and just find the code jumps a lot in it!!

Here is the link for the album creator I mentioned earlier. if you are just after a simple clickable thumbnails gallery it is really simple to use!!! Limon Photo Albums
