Edit !

From MK News: "I'm much looking forward to going out on the road with Bob in such a special year. Also, it was an honour to be asked to record one of Bob's songs on the forthcoming Amnesty International 50th anniversary album to mark his 70th birthday" - MK
That's really interesting! Nice find. You may be on to something, I guess only time will tell.

Good news that Knopfler is working with Bob again.

Am I the only person in the whole world who doesn't rate Dylan highly in any way?

I doubt it, I'd say there are two or three of you.

Dylan is the beginning and end of music for me. He's the musician among musicians.

I've just listened to it and I'm not sure at the moment on whether it is Meat.

I'm not so sure how thrilled you'll be that I'M in that club... lol ... but I am.

I was waiting for the bus the other day... wearing a Meat t-shirt and a woman, a bit younger than my 60 years asked who it was and then went on a spiel about her love of Dylan. I listened, but kept my thoughts to myself when she called him "genius". I just don't get Dylan and certainly I don't get what is supposed to be genius about him. Would a Dylan fan explain it to me ? Mozart ? I find genius, creating and weaving all those passages for all instruments in an orchestra. Dylan ? ... But then I'm not sure I understand "genius". I usually attach that to an inventor or someone like that.

Thanks in advance !

xo

As am I I think in the beginning he wrote some songs which were iconic for their time, but I had the opportunity to see him live a couple of years ago .. thought he was one of those performers I should really take the chance to see, and I was very disappointed. He sang none of those songs for which he will always be remembered, his voice was shot, and I missed the passion and exuberance that I can always expect from Meat .. who always sings the classics that people will ever remember him for, because he knows it's expected. To be fair the rows in front of us were clearly ardent fans and loved every minute. But I nodded off several times .. lol

I am thrilled to have you both in my club. In fact let it be known that today is the day that both Tink and Caryl joined Evil One's club.

Several people on this thread have expressed doubt as to the authenticity of the vocals. Saying 'there's no way it isn't him' isn't an opinion, it's a statement of fact that you can't back up. You're telling those people (myself included) that they are definitely wrong and you have no proof. That is being an ass.

Play nice, or someone is going to start crying

Pretty much everything said on the forum is personal opinion.
As always, feel free to share your opinion, but please do so without calling other forum members an ass.

I agreed with you, that's not quite joining you in your bet
Proof
I still have a copy of your original wager though, and it looks like the album is going to be called HIHB, so better you than me

In an effort to pull the thread somewhere near the topic .............

It does sound like Meat, but from a few years ago.
I also think (from what I remember listening to it yesterday) there didn't seem to be a great mix between the music and the vocal (I think the vocal was too loud and didn't seem married to the music).

So it's either someone who's done a good job of sounding like Meat, or Meat's voice sounding younger than it has in a while.

Either the track is an out take, or it's a vocal track put on a backing track.

Either way I think it'll sound pretty great with a small bit of polishing

like I said before it's just my opinion and you seem to be the only one that has a problem with it.

Not really. Dylan made some good music, but his songs lean better on my ears when performed by others.

OK, I messaged him asking if the person in the video is actually meat. This is what they said:

Hi Warioloaf,

All we can say is watch this space.

At the moment I am afraid we can't give too much away.

As you can see the latest video has been removed.

Kind regards

M

Warrio, hasn't that comment been posted by "meatloaflive2" .. who is the person putting the damn thing on there only to have Meat remove it? And "Kind regards?" .. the clown meatloaflive2 is imo pulling your chain! .. but has enough brain cells to know that Meat often signs M. It IS Meat who is having them removed .. not putting them on there.
