I'd like to see him sing something like 'Hello Again' or 'I Am, I Said' by Neil Diamond because both songs tell stories and Meat can tell a story so well through song. I already like both songs and I think it'd be interesting to see how Meat could make them his own.

Meat should do "Date With Destiny" by Blue Tears.

Both "You Didn't Break It" by Steve Vai from the Flexable Leftovers album, and "Wishful Thinking" by Poison from the Hollyweird album. Both relatively unknown songs, that sound like they were tailored or demo'd for Meat. Especially the chorus where Brett is doing his best Meat Loaf impression!

Technically it wouldn't be a cover since it was originally written for Meat, but I would love him to do Total Eclipse Of The Heart.

Sorry, this is a teeny bit off topic, but I reckon Richard O'Brien could probably write Meat some ace tracks, and maybe a cracking duet...

Meat did a fantastic job doing Surfs Up, Nowhere Fast, Left in The Dark and Original Sin without Jim. I'm sure he'd do justice to a few more on the whistle down the wind soundtrack. |

Should only go near Steinman tracks with Jim involved. (my 2 cents anyway) His Surf's Up & Nowhere's fast work real well. Original Sin & Left In The Dark, they lacked something, but not in the same way TMIL's covers lacked something. This is my 25 cents anyway.
If Meat will cover, I like to see him cover F*ck You Anyway from the Sweeny Todd movie. Or at least there was a video clip of it circulating on youtube! |

I'm sorry but I love Meat because he is unlike anybody else and I feel he is at his best with songs that are "his". Of course I love his voice whatever he is singing, but he does't need to cover other peoples music, in my opinion.

He already covers many artists. The Doors, Warren Zevon, Chuck Berry and Elvis come instantly to mind.

Yes I know, and I love them all, with his spin on them. But my point is that his talent is unique, and the combination of a new song and his voice is far superior than any cover, no matter how enjoyable.

I love how he took James Michael's take on 'Los Angeloser' and delivered to a sonic sounding level of a distant future of LA and making it sound cool. I really enjoy the 'Hang Cool' story now!
