End pudding quote response here.

Meat's consistancy to deliver the same song could possibly gain momentum. Why do you think radio stations play one hit of an artist over and over and over again? At the moment HCTB doesn't have radio presence, SO whatever live exposure Meat gets...he's consistantly playing Los Angeloser. Give him props for sticking to his plan, tenacity, and belief in the song (if this line of thinking that is indeed what's going on). I'm game for whatever show Meat can book and I'll watch LA everytime if that's the "chosen one". Like Meat said if you don't like it, don't watch.
Same here Suzie, I'll watch whatever he's on too, no matter what he sings, or if he sings or just does interviews. Though I have to watch the youtube clip since the shows aren't on over here. It would be great if he were on Letterman or Ellen, we have those shows here.

I thought the purpose of a TV performance is that people watch and not that they don't watch.

Don't forget that it's not only die-hard fans who watch those TV appearances. The casual listener needs that "wow, what a song, that Meat Loaf guy is f*cking cool" experience to get really interested in him and his album. Otherwise you watch it, maybe you even think "not bad" but you'll forget about it very soon. That performance of Los Angeloser was much better than previous ones, yet I doubt that it will attract that many non-fans. But I'm willing to reconsider my opinion in case album sales will increase significantly because of the Lopez show.

There are people here who aren't keen on having LA the featured song on TV. It's been said on the QVC thread and the Huckabee thread that he should do a different song. If he had read these comments, and still chooses LA, then the opinions regarding a song change on this forum doesn't matter. The LA song may still be played no matter how people groan about it here. So if anyone is groaning about seeing LA, then my recent paraphrase is applicable.

It's not going to hurt Meat any if any of us here don't watch the show. We've all got the album anyway or in some cases gave it a chance.

I had only the non-die hard people in mind when I posted my thoughts. IMO: If a crackin' performance of Los Angeloser is done, it has the potential of attracting a new fan. Besides the blessing of being put in front of America on a cable TV channel is huge. Usually the studio audience gets to go home with a copy of the musical guest's new cd anyway....so they will get to have the HCTB experience. If the audience has a great time at the performance, then they will likely check out the CD. The potential is there. If his plan is to do "Los Angeloser" all TV performances then so be it. I think the potential is totally there.

I can see this from Suzie's point of view. The plugging the same song thing gets done by most artists like this. Of course for the die hard fans who follow all these performances it's great to hear different stuff but the thought here is that for the casual buyer (and there are more of those) it is indeed probably best to be reminded of a song a couple of times and hopefully then go out buy the CD. If Meat uses the TV opportunities like this it's probably best. LA is fun, short, summery and catchy whether it perhaps divides fans or not. It may not have the impact of a AFL but the repeated performance thing isn't a bad idea considering lack of airplay on radio and music channels I would have thought.

I would love to see a fantastic tv rendition of PFL, but considering it isn't on the album it won't happen.

LA isn't going to get people to want to listen to the whole album if anything it would make them not want to listen. I just don't understand why he chose that song to be the main single when you have songs like Song Of Madness, Peace On Earth, Lets Be In Love, Living On The Outside on there WTF was he and the rocord company thinking? That is such a stupid move on there part IMO.

Well the album did get to number 4 in the UK, so I would have thought it did have some impact. Meat hasn't performed HCTB on UK TV (yet).
Perhaps he would consider doing "Peace on Earth" if he got a chance (never understood why he hasn't been on Jools Holland ever). I think POE would make for the most interesting song choice as it has some good bits imo.

Many will indeed agree (as do I mostly) but Meat and Cavallo really seemed to have thought LA and Like a Rose were THE singles for this album and they started with those songs. I don't really get it either. I think LA is more of a filler personally. It is indeed fun to see the tv crowds react well to it but it's not a typical bombastic or vocally powerful Meat song. But I think that is exactly what he wanted to do, more bluesy/country/rock-ability, whatever you would call this mix of music. Like the album title he probably thought that would have the most impact "hey guys you haven't seen me do this before".

Why selling rocks when you have diamonds?

I'm a long-time Meat Loaf fan, yet I watched the Wolfmother clip on the Lopez webpage about a dozen times while I clicked Los Angeloser only twice, go figure.

It went to #4 in Germany as well and that had NOTHING to do with Los Angeloser.

As far as I remember, he talked about the album and its title and it didn't differ much from most he had said about it before. What was the adjustment exactly?

anymore. I am mad as hell and I will not take it anymore. If everyone leaves here because they get pissed off . Then so be it. about 15 of the songs we didn't do on this record we are going to record next year. It is real easy for people to write oh he should have done this or that. They are not dealing with the TV shows. We were going to do" living on the outside " The best we could do was a 3 :49 edit the TV show said no. too long. So I do the best I can . I got warmed up to sing and then they made me wait an extra hour and the studio was freezing cold. What does me being 62 have to do with anything . Oh, go act my age !! I did not like that.

If you are gonna do this, that would be cool. Like I said my 15 year old brother and I love your music. I think a lot of the younger demographic would eat it up if you promoted it to them.

~~~~ what the record companies think. A lot of younger people love your voice Meat and the style of music you do. A lot
Even a lot of your facebook group members are teenagers or young adults. It appeals to us because its funny, your voice is powerful as hell, and its feel good music. It never gets old.
Meat - everyone here has their opinion of how your album should be promoted and what songs you should sing on TV, but hey guess what - if we knew what we were talking about we would be working for a Promo company rather than spewing crap on this forum.
Try not to let our ramblings get under your skin - you should be enjoying your tour and rocking the pants of those lucky enough to see your shows.
Can't wait to see you in the UK.
Meat, do you really want that?
Hey, we all want to hear praise rather than criticism and I understand that artists are especially sensitive when it comes to their work. Please feel free to disagree with our opinions but please avoid those cuss words.
Why not just say "You're wrong...", "your comment is not fair..." instead of "you [enter any cuss word you like]"?
Elijah'sWay did not say that that she (?) doesn't like you, she just can't stand one particular song while loving others. Maybe the comment regarding age was a bit offensive... She wouldn't be that passionate about it if she didn't like you. The bigger the love, the bigger the disappointment.
Please don't forget we often don't know the background to something, maybe some comments would be different if we did.
So , why the need to comment on things people know nothing about.
I always said you don't like a song fine, I disagree but it's fine . Don't agree with your love line !!
Really....we are all, when it comes down to it, dedicated fans on this board.
But since you chat here Meat, it enables the discussions to be more in depth...more real...And more emotional at times. I dont see the problem with that. I guess there could be slightly less finger pointing and name calling. But Its annoying when half the conversation gets deleted. Keep it real.
We all want the same thing, no matter how much we bicker. Meat Loaf to be successful and do well because we love his art.
Probably cuz half the time...people treat this forum like Meat doesn't check what is read. And we say things without thinking of how it would make Meat feel. He's said repeatedly what he dislikes reading, but people dont seem to care. So I dont mind when he speaks his mind right back at us ?
