Just signed myself up the other day, my girlfriend signed up as well and I just got my friend to. Looking forward to seeing how this pans out.

Default Fan Campaign Update

Thanks for all the support.
Tomorrow we have our first press release go out.
Hopefully this will be picked up by some of the media.
In the meantime we need as many people as we can muster to join our facebook campaignhttp://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=117435914964680

So please join us there and contact as many people as you can, and ask them to do the same, and for them to ask their friends etc etc,,. if we can get people joining in numbers fast? we can seek more press coverage as fans come together to take on the music industry and stand up for Meat and good old rock n roll music. Calling all fans from around the world!! right now we are seeking general support for the principles of the campaign. thank you

Putting a link to your Facebook group may have helped with this campaign?

I agree, I had to hunt around too much - only seconds but seconds count - it would be great to have a link with the Facebook logo right at the top of your page... especially as it's Facebook's potential to create a number 1 that you're after.

Apart from that, it's a great idea.

Thanks. We didn't have a facebook page then :) .. but we take ideas on board and run fast with them. Monstro has sorted this update and I've asked R to put it at the top of the first post in our sticky thread .. unless Monstro can do the honours? .. and above the first paragraph on the first post put

Is it not possible to get something on the official site and Meat's twitter page?

Does anyone know how many copies need to be downloaded to be within a chance?

I don't know whether that's a good idea. It would appear kind of strange if the artist himself promoted such a fan campaign. That could easily be misinterpreted.

the promotion appears to be heavily advertising jack blacks involvement... is there any promotion targeted directly to the jack black/tenacious d fans??

How's the "We want 2000 fans a day" target coming along on Facebook?

Lady GaGa has thrown shout outs to fan vids on YouTube, and I know Aaron Carter and Adam Lambert have had recent tweets promoting fan based campaigns. It is not uncommon. We are in the digital age - in 30 minutes, massive groups of people have made random things "trend" in Twitter, which generates buzz in the media. It is all viral and rampant now. The times they are a'changing.
