Default Lost Love and other lost songs

Does anyone know why Lost Love never made it on to the MIDNIGHT AT THE LOST AND FOUND album? It is probably one of the best songs that never made an album, in my opinion.
I'm just wondering if there are other songs out there that might be destined for an album but never made it.

take a number was cut from bad attitude (good loss. hot patootie rip off), unsaid & decadent wish were omitted from CHSIB (terrible losses), RPM was cut from BBIS (fair loss), oklahoma cover of "o what a beautiful morning" never made WTTN (Good loss), and most recently Prize Fight Lover and Boneyard from HCTB (fine losses both)

Some of them are b sides on CD singles. They pop up on ebay occasionally, so it's a good idea to keep an eye out. I've found a few treasures on there I never knew existed.

check the search function for threads called "The rare songs". To each "lost song" there's actually a thread somewhere out there....

I have a couple of spare copies of the CD which has Decadent Wish on it:
Did I Say That both album version and AC edit
Decadent Wish
Lawyers, Guns and Money

which I picked up on eBay for £5. PM me if you're interested.

eil.com is a pretty good source. They usually stock the Let It Be cover, along with Come Together is on Not A Dry Eye, and though they don't have it in at the moment you can request next copy.

Talking

Lost Love was the B-side to If You Really Want To

Take A Number was the B-side to Modern Girl

I love both these songs but then I am biased because I love everything Meat has done lol

I don't think there has ever been an official explanation. It is certainly better than most of the songs on MATLAF.

Would be great if one day we get a complete B-sides album, but with all the different record companies involved I'm sure it would be next to impossible.

Far easier just to make yourself copies of all the albums and stick the B-sides on the end of the appropriate discs.

I'm pretty sure that it has been said in the past by Meat that the record company took MATLAF away and released it before they were done with it. It would explain alot. It also seems that Meat has never had a lot of songs to choose from for any album as there is generally not a lot left over for B sides.
CHSIB had more than most. I mean like BAT OUT HELL surely would have had a few more songs to choose from but I guess not. It doesn't even look like they recorded MTYD for the album.
I wonder if this has more to do with Meat hating the studio, Steinman, when they worked together not writing very much, or a lack of financial backing to get some highpriced help. Maybe a combination of everything.
The only song that I think was totally lost was DATE WITH DESTINY. That could;ve been a huge hit for Meat.

There wasn't room for any more songs on Bat 1. They were already struggling for space on the LP. Other songs that have been rumoured for consideration were More Than You Deserve, Left In The Dark and Who Needs The Young.

Ah I see, it's a speech rather than a song. Awesome collection by the way

I think it could have been done as a song too. Possibly.

You forgot Black Betty and Whore, both B-sides for Bat 3. Also there are a load of remixes of Bat 2 songs.
