It did seem that they tried to cram as much special effects into the film as possible. As for the actors, I don't like Adrien Brody and I can't stand Jack Black, so it was never going to be a winner for me from the start. And I though Naomi Watts performance was average and nothing on Fay Wray.

I think Jack Black is great when he is Jack Black ie himself (for example in "School of Rock") but anything else he seems to be a rubbish actor in my opinion. I thought he wasn't convincing in King Kong or "Tropic Thunder" and in "Be Kind Rewind" I thought he was useless as was that whole film.

It's a bit like Ricky Gervais I think. Gervais is great as David Brent in The Office as it's almost himself I think (he has exactly the same humour during interviews for example), but anything else has never come close.

I don't like any King Kong film. Maybe the 70s ones were okay and watchable but I think it's a stupid story.

The new one was overhyped but so is Peter Jackson imo.

Agree with everything...don't like Adrien Brody - don't even know why but he rubs me the wrong way...Naomi Watts was just...ummm....being fay...and all these special effects didn't have any point to them...I do like Jack Black but he was out of place in this movie...5th wheel so to speak...

It's not about the face...for me it was something to do with first acting in Pianist and then going on to being a slimy character in real life...
