Kinda wish they'd leave the reissues alone until the proposed boxset.

Would it not mean the album was made in a carbon neutral fashion?

That's what I'd have thought. If that's the case, maybe the label are releasing 'carbon neutral' editions of other albums too? Shouldn't be too hard to find out.

At the risk of sounding a bit of an idiot, could someone explain?

it sounds to me as though its made from something thats environmentally friendly, maybe the paper for the booklet is recycled or the plastic that the cd is made from is recycled.... I don't know - just a guess!

The album production is basically eco friendly or at the very least less carbon dioxide is put into the atmosphere compared with normal album production.

so nothing exciting then.

Probably just such a gain-money-without-any-effort release such as Sony's best of "gold" editions LOL
Just with a differently coloured disc and in a very cheap looking cardboard sleeve.

What a joke.

Like the "earth" concerts on 7.7.7.

Cool... birthday present for me.... lol...

Doesn't carbon neutral mean that they plant enough trees to negate the carbon produced in the manufacture of the CD? Or something along those lines, anyway?

I was thought it would be made of rock. Less deforestation.

Of course, if they really wanted to save energy and resources, they wouldn't bother with another pointless reissue of an album that has already been re-released several times, is available in every record store on the planet and most supermarkets.

Looks like a re-packaged waste of money to me with nothing new to offer.

Maybe as part of the recent carbon neutral bandwagon, they'll go thru their entire catalogue and remove any excessive reference to gas-guzzling cars or motorbikes in the songs...

err... and replace any artwork of cars or motorbikes with public transport and elecrtric mopeds...

Doesn't Bat Out Of Hell/Meat Loaf get enough grief off Jeremy Clarkson with making it carbon neutral, he'll never shut up about that!!!!

Yeah, I'd say you're right about that. But you never know, perhaps we shouldn't lose hope for a different coloured disc in a very COOL cardboard sleeve, with exorbident full colour booklet.

It just occured to me now that I can't think of a release of BooH1 that has come in a digipak -- of all the reissues after reissues, I don't think there's been one?? So you never know, don't give up hope yet. It just MAY be kinda cool.

(Sure it's gonna be the same ol' content, probably with Dead Ringer still on it as well , but packaging can be cool).

They'll probably put the guy on the cover on a bicycle instead of that motorbike!

Would be very cool to have something like that, BUT if this reissue is already announced as 'carbon neutral' that this will be the main attraction of it. Otherwise they would have called it 'new special collectors editon gold' or something like that
I hope an (interesting!) re-release will turn up for the 30th anniversary in autumn

So true. I agree with your reasoning there.

(Do you have "just the music" releases in your parts? Here in Australia -- and I'm sure they're just shipped in from the US -- a certain record label have released a bunch of their catalogue with absolutely no booklet in a very simple tray in a very small cardboard sleeve... they sell for cheap and are marketed as "just the music". I guess this is just Epic / Sony's version of something like that).

complete crap!
Bought the same of Bonnie Tylers FTTSON + SD&FF.
Its just both albums in the usual jewel cases, with a VERY cheap looking cardboard sleeve.
Bought it because I thought it might be a digipak, but it isnt.
And even more expensive that both albums seperately!
