I don't think it looks that bad actually, I wouldn't have it adorning my living room wall though.

I like a pic to look like the subject

I'm not into the kind of art you have to ask what it is

Like fantasy art best, that's why I've got Bat, BFG, Bat III, Hits 12", DR single and ACB singles on my wall! And AFL 7" is in the post

I hate this! This looks like a painting where a kid has attacked it, no offence meant to parents . I am guessing they were trying to caputure this;

And not quite succeeded !!!

They captured it very well in their own personal interpretation of what they saw. What one person sees as art isn't the same as what someone else sees. So they DID succeed.

I must agree there, he's taken that pic and painted what he saw, so I really can't fault the guy - I'm just gutted he's making cash out of it!!! lol

Art isn't about being able to paint hands, noses, feet and anyting else on the human body perfectly. Art is about (At least my interpretation of art) painting your feelings visually. This artist wanted to capture something about Meat that maybe some of us cannot seem to comprehend.......... At least show some respect for art and the artist by trying to find your own personal interpretation of the picture.

Personaly..... I think the artist has done a very good job.

If I was gonna give a basic analysis of the second paintind I would say...........

"In my opinion, the decision to have a plain black background was a bad choice because there is no sense of atmosphere created. If fact, I think Meat's head looks very isolated even though it does take up the whole of the canvas. I don't know why the artist chose to have a squiggle above the microphone but it does create a good sense of sound and movement.... Even though it does look, again, quite isolated and motionless. Saying that..... One of the major aspects of the picture which stood out at me to begin with was the amount of energy created by the sharp and expressive line making. The colour gives the picture a very 'Jazzy' feel which is sooooooooo not Meat Loaf............ However, I love the yellow shading on the face!"

There we are........... An analysis the artist can actually debate about.

For the second one I would say it looks like a pile of shit, But since you can't say shit without incurring an infraction penalty, then I won't say shit. So mods, don't give me any points for not saying what I really wanted to say.

The painting itself looks like it's retro 70's, that some 6th form art student did whilst experimenting with some felt-tipped pens. Either that or they were smacked up on drugs.

This is basically an "abstract" view of the picture Meatgrl1 posted. It's not bad at all, in it's style. Not really my taste, although I can still appreciate it.

I would call the the style of the painting 'Pop Art' but there is no way I would compare it to Andy Warhol. The guy is a genius and his work has a lot of in depth meaning. The artist who did the second picture was simply trying to capture Meat in his element.......... That's it....... I don't think any overly expressive media or emotion was used.

Very true. I see piles of shit most days and not once (I don't think) have I commented on it looking like a badly painted Meat Loaf picture.
