This is sounding fooking amazing!

Yes it's sounding seriously fantastic, and that's great news right there.

It wasn't that long ago I bought the "deluxe edition" of bat 2, but I was seriously disappointed with it, so this is timely.

That sounds really great!!! can't wait. Still the best album.

But does anyone knows this.... couple of years back i saw the Bat 2 album, but is has a black and white cover and it contains all the songs, but live. It was also a live album as far as i can remember. Is this the same album... ?? And does anyone knows more about it?

But lookin gforward to this one too!!!

Not sure if you misread there, I meant it WON'T be the MOS recordings and IS the LATW live recordings. EMI/Virgin own the Bat 2 recordings, LATW recordings and the video rights.

I meant that the package sounds fantastic :)

But what's easier: licence your recording to another label in order to make some easy money yourself, or do all the work yourself?

LATW is released on Tommy Boy Records, and unless Wikipedia is wrong, they're not part of EMI.

I think the live recordings could be from the Bat 2 era, or maybe the WTTN era, possibly the one's from Live Around the World. They won't be from MSO recordings, as icwuke said earlier, these are owned by Universal, not Virgin, so they can't include them, unless alot of money has exchanged hands. But my bet is the Bat 2 era, Everything Louder Tour, as some songs live from this era were used as B-sides, for Bat 2 singles, if I ain't mistaken.

I think Tommy Boy Records just licensed Meat's recordings from his Virgin time, so possibly, Virgin could still have rights to use these recordings, depends what clauses, were put in place.

They did, EMI/Virgin own the LATW tracks.

See 'Heaven Can Wait - The Best Of Meat Loaf' - Thats the EMI/Virgin 'best of'.

Its the LATW tracks on the second disk :)

Or alternatively, you could say it's the WTTN B-sides.

Anyway, if the second disc is made up of previously released material, it would be a missed opportunity.

Its the cheap and easy thing to do, thats the point of re-issues. Its not a big re-issue of the album, just something to jump on the back of Bat 3. Much in the same way as the Bat 1 special edition and VBO.

Oh I didn't misread anything. The LATW recordings is exactly what I wanted, I've never owned that album. That and I hate when releases mix and match material from different eras when they really shouldn't.

but one more thing: MOS? You mean MSO, right?

Hehe... yeah. What was it meat said? MSO sounds like a sexually transmitted disease or something?

For anyone reading who is not too sure, it means Melbourne Symphony Orchestra of course.

Hmmmm.... this sounds tempting, especially for the DVD, however I only recently recieved LATW last week, so the live tracks on this edition won't be special to me, nor the album itself which I already have...hmmm decisions lol.

if itīs the same as was discussed here earlier, then disc 2 contains live versions of the BOOH songs, disc 3 contains the 3 videos and interviews with (I think) Meat and Jim.

Although Iīm not sure if itīs the same package.

As in the same versions as live around the world?

Is it the full bat 2 picture show?

1) probably yes, (search for the thread about, there are people who know much more about it than me)
2) no (again: probably) just the three videos + interviews with M&J

We've been over this 3 times already...

Disk 1 - BOOH2
Disk 2 - BOOH Live (LOTW recordings NOT BOOH live with MSO as they're on different labels)
DVD - Music videos from Bat 2

The END!!!!
