Agreed.

I had an incident with a Jack-in-the-box as a very small tacker, and have been scared of clowns ever since. Clowns should be restricted to licensed premises, such as circuses, zoos and theatres, and they should certainly NOT be allowed in phone books, or anywhere else that clowns are not expected to be.

To me, clowns aren't funny. In fact, they're kind of scary. I've wondered where this started and I think it goes back to the time I went to the circus, and a clown killed my dad.

I used to have a terrible fear of clowns as a kid

My nan got me this circus poster with, you guessed it, a FECK OFF BIG CLOWN ON IT

Of course mummsy put it on my bedroom wall so my nan could see I liked it.

I fought nightly battles with that white faced git

That is absolutely awful, and I'm typing this post looking down at the keyboard so I don't have to look at the screen!!!

Most clowns I just think are stupid but I really can't cope with eyes like that one that the lovely Ben has decided to terrorize us all with.....thanks hon!!!

I've posted above joke by Mr. Handy...

I guess it's time for my own thoughts.

When I was growing up both of my parents worked 24/7 to make ends meet...so essentially I was raised by various neighbors, parents of my friends, etc.

I guess to compensate for their absense my parents used to drag me to a circus number of times a year...

And I never had a heart to tell them how circus really scares me to death...

All these tightrope walkers and trapeze flyers...won't they fall down one day and crash to death?

All these lion tamers...when they put their heads into lion's mouth...won't it be bitten off one day?

And clowns...ahhh...clowns...for as scary as they look...won't they go mad one day and attack the audience where I am sitting????

I've never really been back to big circus since I was a teenager...

Clowns are terrifying. I've been scared of them ever since I saw a Columbo where a clown is killed by someone cutting the brakes on his car... the big calm made up grin was terrifying as the poor guy flew off the cliff.

However, Tim Curry has helped my rehabilitation - I no longer fear clowns I worship them...
