Default All time favourites and meanings

This one might have you thinking for a while.

Which ML song means the most to you and why?

What I mean is when you hear a certain song and you just get the feeling that it connects you to it intimately.
Or one thats just so powerful that you cant help bursting into song.

One of mind would be Don't Leave Your Mark On Me -
Not because it connects to me personally, but when played loud I just cant help singing along with it - Louder!
The way the song is put together and the underlying beat has got to be one of the best compositions for me!

I think Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad means the most to me - don't know why but when I hear it Live and especially when the crowd sing it sends shivers down my spine.

...I must admit that I don't know ALL of his songs yet; but from the ones I DO... I love "Life Is A Lemon", "Modern Girl", "Original Sin" and "Where The Rubber Meets The Road" as for the "faster" ones, because I like the lyrics (especially of the latter one "Yes means no means yes means no..." - Geeeeez I LOVE that!), and the rhythm and power; I always go like jumping around and singing along loudly.
And "Objects In The Rear View Mirror..." brings tears to my eyes because of the background story.
"I'd Lie For You..." I connect with my Sweetheart. I think it's one of the most emotional songs ever.

Talk without speaking,
Scream without raising your voice..." (U2)

Definately "I'd do Anything for Love" It touches me and I can't really explain why, but there are several things in the lyrics and feelings in the music that I recognise and that moves me.

Heaven Can Wait.

Steinman's best ballad by far. This song has the greatest lyric of any song. Ever (Bar Lennon's Imagine). It's just so damn emotional. Just listen to it. I dare you to listen to Heaven Can Wait and not cry your eyes out.
"And all I got is time until the end of time" - Poetry
"I know that I've been released but I don't know to where, nobody's gonna tell me know and I don't really care"- Genius

The ultimate religious paradox. The ultimate declaration of faith, the ultimate decemation of faith.

"I got a taste of paradise, that's all I really need to make me stay".

This song, is in my view, perfect, in every possible way. Brilliant.

Wow, hard to pick out favorites.

I love the new album, but my all time Meat favorites are probably very odd to most folks. I would have to say Amnesty, no one ever mentions that song. It's a great rocking song and it really speaks to the human condition. Any other Amensty fans out there, don't think I've heard anyone say that is a fav.

Only one that tops it is Is Nothing Scared, just friccking awesome. Has to be the best love song of all time, this from a guy who really likes the rocking ones.

...is forever just another word...is love worth fighting for...

If your heart beats I fail to see how one can't be moved by that song.

All JMHO, and Mariella...WTFDIK, LOL.

Too many songs to list and for too many diferent reasons.
Not only that, but there is a few songs that have a couple of seconds,or maybe one chorus that goes beyond the rest of the song and just electrifies the spine .
For instance, the song Good Girls go To Heaven,a good song anyway, but the chorus begining "Every time I try and dream you"-BANG.I can listen to that chorus over and over again .

BTW,Yes.Bat is PERFECTION

edit:Yay,1000 posts .

My favorite is "For Crying Out Load", and it has been my favorite for at least 13-14 years now. I don't know why, I just think it's so powerful.

I also like " Paradise BTDL", cause that was the first Meat song I ever heard.

Well very hard to choose a favorite aswell. Right now I think of the 'old' albums 'Heaven'
But lately...definately TESTIFY!
But WT*DIK!
But don't ask me again in the morning, it might have changed by then! (NOT about Testify!! )
Very interesting about 'Amnesty' I am going to listen to that one again, for sure!

Great day to you and Jules,

But the lines
... MOUNT EVEREST COULD SLIDE & JERUSALUM FALL... sums it up for me.

But i also like Martha, i do like most of the songs & as others have said hard to choose just 1 favourite really, & yes it depends on the season, year etc.

Two out of Three ain't bad - strange that the lyrics aren't relevant as to why hubby and I both love this song. probably the 3 bottles of pernod we drank as we listened to it on our wedding day, and have loved it ever since, (must be the memory )

So was the hangover - we were lucky to wake up with no ears missing (Van Gogh loved this drink)

The whole country now knows this is your favourite song after the GN show last month!

Pernod?

My current favourite ML song is Because of You. I can't get the chorus out of my head, and my four year old son sounds so cute when he sings it!

Pernod - Aniseed drink -delicious - Van Gogh cut off one ear whilst drinking excessively, said to induce madness

Bloody hell dottie, 3 bottles of the stuff! That would be enough to blot out the memories of any song, even Two Out of Three

Default songs

more than you deserve
this is a bit sad so here goes
my nephew who was 7 was killed by a car 10 years ago and i was asked to put a verse in the paper
so i was looking through the lyrics of dead ringer and came upon this,
from the very first moment i saw you.
i knew our love would be so strong,
and the very first time i kissed you,
i knew our joy would last so long,
dean and i were very close as i took him everywhere with me
