Yes, it was a meat song, it was left of CSIB but i'm not sure if it was used as a b side on any of meats singles

No, Shadowland wasn't a b-side on any of the singles from CHSIB.

Found these lyrics by Steve Earle for Shadowland on Cowboylyrics.com so I imagine this is the song considered by Meat for CHSIB:

Artist/Band: Earle Steve
Lyrics for Song: Shadowland
Lyrics for Album: Jerusalem

Way out yonder, where the wild wind blows
There's a place there lonely fools can go
Where if you hold your money, it'll burn your hand
So you buy you a ticket to the shadowland

chorus
Down the highway, down the road I'm bound
And my heart keeps poundin' and the wheels go 'round
And it's a hard place for a mortal man
And a heartbroke pilgrim in the shadowland

Yeah, when I was younger I could hold my own
My right hand was thunder and my left was stone
Now I ain't as handsome as I was back then
So I'm takin' my chances in the shadowland

chorus

Been down a thousand highways and they're all the same
Another empty place where I can hide my shame
And there's a heartache waitin' up around the bend
For a lonesome stranger in the shadowland

chorus

Sounds good Diane, and fits in quite nicely with the "Testify!" concept, but I think would lack in the CHSIB mold.

ROCK ON GOOD MUSIC!!!

How sad! I do love the lyrics though. I wonder how it sounds.

I'll probably get shot for this but I think it would be part of an interesting concept if they would pick it instead of CHSIB (the song)...
As Shadowland seems to me to be a 'give up' song and Testify a 'I'm back again'...
Instead of Man Of Steel crossed my mind too but I wouldn't remove my favorite song on it, would I?

Very sad lyrics Patricia.

Has anyone heard Steve Earle sing this song?
