Default Babe Ruth movie?

Does anybody know if Meat's still planning on doing the movie about Babe Ruth? I heard him say in an interview that he was going to try to fit it in his schedule before he started touring.

I hope you can do it Fireball - it sounds like a great role for you

I heard that too. It would be perfect casting I think, as long as Meat can swing a baseball bat left-handed!!!

Thanks Meat for letting us know. That's a shame. I'd like to have seen you play the Babe.

oh Meat...i'm really sorry to hear that...was so excited for you...and looking foward to seeing you play the Babe...i've seen him portrayed in a couple films about his life...they inspired me to read up on him...imo... you could do such justice to the role...hope the opportunity comes up again for you somewhere down the road...

besides all that...because my husband is a baseball buff..it's the one film i could have dragged him out of the house to see.. :-) ...

tink...XO

Yes, is there still hope for the Babe Ruth movie happening in the future? If they are "back to the drawing board" as you say, perhaps the option exists to produce the movie in, say, 2005 once all the tour is over and you are admiring the gold records for CHSIB? (Yes, I know Bat 3 throws a wrench into this, but give me my dreams!) Facially, I can't think of another actor who would be more perfect as the Babe, coupled with your athletic skills- boom, how could anyone else even be considered? I think it makes a world of difference in a film when an actor actually has some degree of baseball skills. Compare Tony Perkins as Jim Piersall in Fear Strikes Out (where he defined the statement "throws like a girl") with Kevin Costner in (the finest baseball movie ever) Bull Durham. Just my opinion...

It would be about New York Yankee George Herman Ruth (always affectionately known as Babe Ruth) the greatest baseball batter of all time.

From certain angles Meat bears a very uncanny resemblance to Babe Ruth.

Caryl,

That ROL site never fails to amaze me- I can spend hours there and still not see even close to everything. I had no idea that those sports pages were even there. You are right, the resemblance is amazing!

Thanks Sherrie :) .. actually we've just redone the Fairway Suite which would explain why you haven't seen those particular photos together .. but it is a staggering resemblance isn't it? I can't think of anybody who would be better suited to play Babe .. plus the big guy has a pretty good ability in the field as well :)
