Hi all,
It looks like Irish broadcaster RTE will be airing a new documentary this Christmas - "Meat Loaf: From Hell and to Connacht" "Meat Loaf: From Hell and to Connacht brings viewers back to Ireland in 1990, when the legendary US rock star performed in some of the country's most unlikely venues. Meat Loaf - whose 1977 album Bat Out of Hell is one of the biggest sellers of all time - was at a career crossroads when an Irish promoter, Tommy Swarbrigg, took a punt on him. What resulted was a chaotic two-week journey through Ireland's heartland that reignited Meat Loaf's love for people and music and ultimately helped get his career back on track." https://www.rte.ie/entertainment/202...istmas-treats/ |

His memoir described priests stealing ladders and taking days to find generators to play in a barn, and you think someone had the brains to film any of it? That's on you, mate. xD

I thoroughly enjoyed that programme! Great to see the band interviews, and get a feel for how much they enjoyed that time, and how proud they were of their work. And of course lovely to see some live footage.

It was so lovely to see some of the band reminiscing about this tour and some of the stories. I can't believe that I didn't know that Amy and Chuck got married!! In the 90s there would have been a Live Album and DVD release to accompany a documentary like this, just like the VH1 Storyteller's project.
It was a great story and so positive from all involved. Also interesting that the set list was practically the same as the Live at Wembley recording. How I wish that Meat had better (or any) legacy management - I fear that nothing will be done for Bat's 50th other than yet another coloured vinyl. Will there be any more Meat or Jim souvenirs? Time will tell... NSR XX |

This is great thanks Adje. The RTE player doesn't seem to allow for it outside of Ireland (some shows they will) |
