That echo just ruins it for me. So unnecessary and distracting

Mark the echo is there for a reason. He wants you to feel like youre in the same autotorium as the audience. The echo encompasses the feel of the show. Its epic dude.

I agree, I think the echo really adds something, Pauls been nagging him for ages to add effects, i'm glad he let him do this, sounds epic as you say.

Oh dear, i'm thinking I may have to order two copies of the DVD/CD set as they might get worn out quite quickly! Bat sounds AMAZING, in fact it all does! You know when Meat said this would be better than MSO I thought no way it will get close to that, nothing can touch that, but i'm starting to think it might be a worthy competitor!

I'm sorry but I've been to a heck of a lot of shows on three different tours and have never an echo sensation like that. There is one instance in the Paloma deal after the giving tree on this tour, but that is intentionally echoed and it doesn't sound like that at any other point in the show.

I still stand by my earlier statement that it is too dark as well, especially after seeing the EPK. So many points where you can't see what's going on.

Just afraid that the critics are going to rip this thing to shreds and hurt his overall image

Probably won't get a lot of professional reviews, the early reviews on sites like Amazon are always great for awhile because they come from die-hard fans who buy it first day. I've seen stuff not yet released with positive reviews on Amazon. After some members of the general public buy it, they are not going to get the darkness and complain. When it is lighted it looks fantastic. It sounds good to me, especially with the violin. Now having seen this many clips I feel like it is safe to say that some of us find parts to be too dark. I will still buy it (pre-ordered) and probably enjoy it any way.

Everything I've seen and heard on these previews tells me I am going to love this DVD, that Meat should be proud of it, and that it was worth waiting for him to be happy with it That he's wearing our LFTT pendant in the promo shot at New Brunswick is the icing on the fund-raising cake Love it .. and Meat's vocals are great for me, I like the effects, and I think for me this will pip the MSO at the post by more than a nose or two!

Something to look forward to as October threatens to usher in "No shade, no shine, no butterflies, no bees, no fruits, no flowers, no leaves, no birds -
November!" .. and bring me instead the light and warmth and joy of so many wonderful remembered nights

I've watched and listened the Bat video for 4 times now and I m absolutely dissapointed

I'm happy for those who love it and I hope it will sound decent in DTS but this audio mix, as I hear it on youtube and on my PC, simply sucks.

Meat's vocal mix almost seems as if it's not part of the band. As if he's singing live with a (kick-ass) karaoke music mix. It doesn't sound as if they belong together and I have no idea if that has to do with dubbing or effects but it's ruining the experience for me.

Again I hope this comes over a lot better on the DTS mix.

I still don't like the way this is lit. Almost as if they had to hide something. It's not as livid as the concert DVD's I have and at times it all just looks bad lit to me overall.

I had high hopes before. Now I just hope it doesn't suck like Bat3. But from what I've seen sofar this is nowhere near the quality of the MSO DVD.

So, yes I'm dissapointed

I agree. The band sound excellent, but Meat's vocal mix sounds a bit off.

I'm not sure it sounds off. To me it sounds like he's trying to make things fresh and new, singing some bits higher, some bits different to what he's done before. I like this because he's always showing he's not afraid to be bold and make ad lib changes to the vocals. So i don't think it's off, he's just doing things a bit differently, and I for one love it.

Whatever the reason is, it doesn't make it sound "live", in my opinion. It appears kind of artificial to me. I agree with MarkS on this. It's just too much. I turned the volume down after half the song because it wasn't a pleasant sound to my ears, it really annoys me and distracts from the music. I don't understand why they did this, I think it doesn't do the sound any favors.

I had the same feeling.

I think the lighting is okay, except for the parts that have that odd blue tint. Did it look like that during the actual concert or was that added later?

You guys are never satisfied. This is perfection! Just what I wanted. He sounds great! You complain like I did that 3 Bats was flawed and too raw, now you have a polished masterpiece and you complain about it. I don't get it. Its awesome. and meat looks like hes enjoying himself!

What she said, MS was a masterpiece, this doesn't look anywhere close to the same level

First of, I am really happy that you are happy about it. And I mean that.

Just like me you have an opinion about it, it just happens my opinion is the oposite of yours.

You call it a polished masterpiece, I call the vocal mix a ruined experience because they don't sound like they (music and vocals) belong together.

I, btw, never said anything about Meat's performance. I'll wait with that after I've seen the rest of the DVD.

So for me this is the oposite of a masterpiece. I certainly wouldn't call the mix awesome.

At this point there is only a month (or two depending on the source) and I am going to wait until I see and hear it except I will say now it is bloody dark. I do wish the distributors knew Meat Loaf is two words, whoever posted the youtube video apparently does not. I'm firmly in the wait and see (but damn it is dark) camp.

"Perfect" & "Flawless" is in the eye of the beholder.... for all that I want this is perfect & flawless to me, and to me that, and that Meat is happy with it is all that counts.

Gotta admit, I really enjoy the lighting from what is being shared.. Imo any show that's a lot of white light is bothersome. The Ginny Luke accompaniment is a little bothering but may begin to enjoy it after I buy the DVD. It's just new sound is all and will perhaps take some getting used too. The song Land Of The Pig was real guitar heavy and new for Meat, but I grew to enjoy that.

I quite enjoy the violin sound in there, the solo duel between Ginny & Justin is "AMAYZING!"

Its just this is the kind of production i thought youd all unanimously celebrate. I dont see the problem. I guess weve all heard the boots and this doesnt sound anything like it and we are used to a vocal quality to meat from a bootleg. this is professional.

Lol this is the first time we disagree on something like this

I wasn't commenting on what was actually coming out of Meat's mouth.
