I think Facebook people are actually trying to fight this. I got e-mail notifications that I have those PMs from Helen and Emma Meatgrl and somebody else...but when I got to my inbox I really didn't have any of these there...not sure what it means but think it's something to do with Facebook fighting back...

NP Rosie.

Also not sure if this is part of the virus or not but I'm finding that after deleting/blocking apps they appear again when I next log on and it's really annoying some I can't block because there is an error but it's annoying keep going through and re-deleting them, this happening with anyone else ?!?

If you get that...report each and every one of them to Facebook - they are trying to fight this kind of thing.

I'm at the library with limited time right now but will see if they reappear later when I log on at home, if they have I'll make a list of them and forward them on to the fb team as problem applications, then I haven't the faintest how to clear, defragment my computer and all that crap, dad is currently abroad so can't help me so I'm stuck !!

Also, deleting temporary files, history and going through your cookies and deleting most of those might work too...

Rosie
Got one of those crazy vid email thingies from another friend before the ones from Rosie. He said he'd received it from someone else and thought that when he clicked on the link, it caused facebook to send those emails out to random people (he wasn't sure if was everyone) in his friends list. So maybe that has something to do with it? *shrugs*. But then I think a few of you tried to click on it, and I didn't receive the messages from anyone other than Rosie from this forum, so I dunno.

Aah interesting. I DID send you response Zina, as did Emma - i'd just done reply all to the email advising not to click on it due to looking like a virus. Emma's response was basically agreeing with me. Maybe facebook got wise to the virus problem and deleted the 'thread'. Let's hope so - I keep getting excited thinking I have friends when it shows I have messages in my inbox, and then it turns out to be some bl**dy virus!

Do you know you can actually BLOCK applications? Sorry to those who have sent me applications and I've apparently ignored them (I only tend to accept selected ones, nothing to do with who's sent them to me, just depends on the nature of the application) but those where i've had several invites, I've just blocked and then never received invites again. Plus the applications allegedly can't access anything to do with my profile then.

I didn't get all these messages, Helen, although I did get notifications in the e-mail. In fact, I didn't get any messages for a few days now and am actually wondering about that...a little unusual for me...LOL

Default Attention!

please check if you have an application called "zoosk" added to your facebook. It appeared on my profile, without being added, and was a bit tricky to remove.
I also know that it sent out emails unasked.

That was the one that I had too without adding it...I've deleted it already and it seems like it's gone...

It was an awful application, accepted it at first when I was new to facebook then didn't like it matching me to random dudes that I'd never heard of, let alone met so I thought I deleted it and still I got notifications of new matches and I think I've deleted it several times over since then, but hopefully this block will be the last one, please god !!

I checked, to be sure. And it seems I DO have zoosk. Which I KNOW I didn't add. Though it explains why I keep being informed of matches I knew nothing about!! I THINK I have now removed it, so we shall see. It no doubt piggybacked in on something else. I'll keep an eye on it!
