I've mentioned this before, but I know of two Meat Loaf karaoke cdg's on the market.
The Sunfly disc has the following tracks.....
A Kiss Is A Terrible Thing To Waste.
Bat Out Of Hell.
Dead Ringer For Love.
I'd Do Anything For Love.
I'd Lie For You.
I'm Gonna Love Her For Both Of Us.
Midnight At The Lost And Found.
Objects In The Rear View Mirror.
Paradise By The Dashboard Light.
Rock And Roll Dreams Come Through.
Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad.
You Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth.

It's a good disc.My only complaint is that the middle verse is missing from Objects .

The other disc is fairly new on the market and is made by Sound Choice.Tracks....
Hot Patootie.
I'd Do Anything For Love.
I'd Lie For You.
Rock And Roll Dreams Come Through.
Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad.
All Reaved Up With No Place To Go.
For Crying Out Loud.

I haven't got the Sound Choice disc yet,but I have other discs from the same company and the quality is good.I have heard a roumer that Sound Choice are planning a second Meat Loaf disc so fingers crossed .

There is another disc (without graphics)available in the high street, but I don't have any information about it.

I'm afraid I don't know of any sites where you can download karaoke tracks.

Hope this helps.

By the way,if anybody ever finds a karaoke disc (cd or cdg) with Life Is A Lemon or Razor's Edge, please let me know.I can't find them anywhere .
I e-mailed Sound Choice last week asking them to confirm that there would be another Meat Loaf disc and requesting those songs, but nobody has got back to me yet .

I'm afraid not Dottie.
Although many more shops are selling graphic karaoke players for home use,not many shops sell cdg's (although they don't tell you that when you buy them ).As they are a specialised product, they are more expensive than normal cd's(which again, they don't tell you).
However,I can tell you that one company that I have dealt with in the past is called Images (based in Scotland). They have both cdg's available and do mail order.
The phone number is 01506 442 111.
The Sunfly sells in the region of £23.00.
The Sound Choice sells for about £15.00.
Hope that helps.

While not strictly Karaoke, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra did some meat loaf tracks, they don't have vocals on, but of course, sound different to the originals, which i'm presuming is something you'd want :)

Taking the karaoke thing a step further... would anyone be interested in posting the chords or sheet music to Meat Loaf songs on here...? Would it be allowed...? I've worked out the chords to a few songs and wouldn't mind posting them, but I wonder if there's anyone else on here who plays the guitar or piano or something who knows some of the songs - perhaps there could be a section for it on the website.

Would Meat mind? And, after all, he probably knows the chords to most of his songs better than anyone else, so hopefully he might contribute if he can find time!

Just wondered - any response would be appreciated, 'cos I'd love to be able to play more ML songs on my guitar.

Cheers,

Space

Space Monkey I have Bat out of Hell/Back into Hell music books for Piano/guitar/vocal if we were able to obtain permission I think in the first instance from R or one of the others - it might be something to do with publishing copyright that could prevent this. If not I could scan them
ande mail them to you

Well, there are always alternatives to the actual sheet music.
MIDI files are computer generated music files, for them to work, the computer needs notes and chords entered by someone.

You could therefore use something like 'Noteworthy Composer' to open a midi file as a manuscript document... therefore it would be the music to whatever song the midi is.... though you are likely to get all the instruments and maybe the part you want is split over a few lines, but not normally.

Dunno really, its maybe what you want, but its a hassle at times.

dottiebat186 - thanks for your reply. I have the Bat Out Of Hell sheet music, and somewhere I have the Bat 2 book, but I'm damned if I can find it! It's not the sheet music that I'm necessarily after, just the chords really so I can play the songs on guitar. If anyone out there can play guitar, play Heaven Can Wait on it, it sounds fantastic, and it's really easy!

If it's no trouble then I'd really appreciate you sending me the Bat 2 chords - I'm really annoyed that I can't find the book though!

What I was after though is just maybe the chords if anyone knows them, but if not then no worries. I know they say that you're not supposed to copy the music from the books, but I think if it's your own interpretation then it's not so much a problem (maybe I'm wrong) - i.e. as long as you haven't copied from the book then you wont be in trouble. But how can you tell? Basically, the point I'm trying to make is that Bat and Bat 2 books are out there somewhere, but there's no music available for Meat's other songs... and if anyone knows them then would they like to share them...?

I've just been listening to Surf's Up, and reckon I've pretty much cracked it... sounds good if you can sing it!

Surf's Up:

Intro: E C#m A B

Verse: E G#m A B

Bridge (And my body is burning...): E C#m A B

Chorus:
A E A E
How hard? How hard?
A E B
How hard do I gotta try...?
A E A E
Surf's Up. Surf's Up.
A B C#m
Surf's Up and so am I.
A B E
Surf's Up and so am I...

The chords for the guitar solo are same as for the verse, and then it's the same as before.

Easy eh?!

If I've infringed in any way then delete this and I'll say I'm sorry, but I can't see any harm in this........

Cheers,

Space

That would be great if you could send them to spacemonkeygaz@hotmail.com - if it's not too much trouble (and they don't take up too much space...!)

I really appreciate that thanks.

In the mean time does anybody want me to post any more songs (is there any point?)...? I think I've nearly got "Left In The Dark" now. Nearly.
