Default Bat Out Of Hell SACD - Released

I know lots of people would have missed it when it came out, I know I did. I've also seen copies at high prices dotted around the place. We've managed to get a decision on a re-issue and it'll be out on monday. I'm not overly sure if anyone else is taking it though. I've managed to get it down to £13.99 (RRP £18.99).

Any interested parties can order from the link in my sig.

From Sony...

Yes. Though there's at least one DVD player that also does SACD.

Didn't someone once pay about £100 for this?

Looks like it didn't sell ... maybe a starting price of £80, and a buy-it-now of £110, were a tad too much

You could make him an offer ... tell him that as his is used, and new ones are £13.99, you could take it off his hands for a fiver

'you are holding the definitive version of this classic album. All titles in the mastersound series are produced to the highest possible standard. The latest sonic technologies and state of the art equipment, plus intensive archival research to find the original masters assures a listening experience that puts you in the studio with the artist himself'

Thats from the back of this version, its the gold disk version of Bat Out Of Hell and comes with a fold out poster/booklet with all the notes etc!

Can't actually believe this is the one I've almost bought many times before at much much more! :)

That sounds like a re-issue of the 24 kt. gold 20 bit digital master collector's edition or have they now released it as an SACD?

The price is good. I've still got the price tag on my copy and I paid £13.20 for it in 1993 VAT free.

Am I reading right that the gold BOOH is £13.99? I bought mine in HMV in Edinburgh the week before I was due to meet ML in '99 and it was £25!

I saw them for sale at £20+ in England during the 90s. I was very lucky at the time to get mine at the price I did from a local record store.

I bought mine to take to my first M&G, I feel robbed! Funnily enough I watched a great feature on TV a few weeks back about the tax free shopping in Guernsey!

Yep, it's the gold disk SACD version. We're the only company I think that has taken it as I've pressed them hard for a re-issue.

If someone wants me to text them some pix to upload, message me your num etc :)

So, to get this clear, for the anoraky completist collectors amongst us (who, me? ), this is a gold disc SACD release, which is therefore a new release of BOOH (the previous mastersound gold disk being a good old fashioned CD, and the previous SACD release being a standard looking CD, but playable only via SACD capable players)?

I'm confused. Is it deffo an SACD or is it the Sony Super-Bitmapped gold disc from the '90s? I got that one for £17.99 in '95 or thereabouts.

That's what had me puzzled too Andy.
