Came across a song the other day called "a time for heros" by Meat Loaf and Brian May. It's just ML on lead vocal. I have no idea of the origins etc but it sounds mid 80's and it a professional recording i.e. not acustic or live. I have it as mp3 on my computer.
It also just so happens to be an excellent song, far better than some of ML's 80's stuff. So i would be interested to know where it came from! I have all the albums and im fairly certain its never been on them!!! or maybe im just being a plank and its somewhere obvious! ta! |

I believe this was a track recorded for the special Olympics sometime in the 80s (1987-i think)
It's not on any official Meat albums although it was on an un-official album called back to hell (or something) |

Heroes can also be found on an official German compilation CD Back From Hell Again! The Very Best Of Meat Loaf Vol.2. Hope this helps. Diane |

I did some more research on this one myself yesterday (for my website), and this is what I could find, or rather, what will be on the appropriate page:
Meat Loaf ft. Brian May - (It's A Time For) Heroes 1. (It's A Time For) Heroes (5:06) Produced and arranged by Jon Lyons Executive Producer: M. Scott Sotebeer Associate Producer: John Van Tongreen Mixed by Jay Rifkin and Jon Lyons at the Hit Factory, New York Recorded at the Hit Factory, The Record Plant, West Lake Audio, and Sine Wave Studios Meat Loaf: Lead Vocals Brian May: Lead Guitar Bob Kulick: Rhythm Guitar Jon Lyons: Bass, Acoustic Guitar, Additional Keyboards and Synths John Van Tongreen: Piano, Synths Chuck Bürgi: Drums Gina Ricci, Amy Goff, Elaine Goff: Backing Vocals Official theme for the 1987 International Summer Special Olympic Games. Released only in the USA on a singled, backed by an instrumental version performed by Tangerine Dream. My source (a compilation) credits Nathan Crow and M Scott Sotebeer as the writers, while other sources credit M. Scott Sotebeer, Jon Lyons and Rik Emmett. |
