Default QANTAS ~ Grounded

Safe travels to Meat and the NLE. Not sure if Qantas is the airline of choice for their return home. But according to this:

http://www.cnn.com/2011/10/29/world/...tas/index.html

Qantas is grounded on labor disputes.

Apparently Virgin Australia are trying to take as many of the flights as possible. I bet Ryanair are wishing they were down under they made quite a bit taking the BA/Aer Lingus flights during their strikes.

I think Meat/NLE will be on Air New Zealand back home.

They'd more likely be flying direct I'd have thought . but looks like they could still fly into Australia and work from there with other lines anyway. And a lot can happen in a couple of days. They all managed to get home for Christmas despite so many flights being cancelled because of the almost unprecedented snow and ice and freezing temps in the UK last year.

Nor hail, nor sleet, nor volcanoes, nor disputes shall deflect them in their purpose Hell, Meat's been to Hull and back! (a UK Fools and Horses reference )

"Del Boy: We got lost in the middle of the North Sea. Luckily we spotted the Zeebrugge to Hull ferry and we followed it.
Abdul: And that's how you got to Hull?
Del Boy: No. that's how we got to Zeebrugge. It was going the wrong bloody way. "

Yeah, it's been a shitfight for months with strikes, and now QANTAS have just had a gut full. Hopefully they will finally resolve something now. Glad this didn't happen a couple of weeks ago, I would have been stranded in Canberra!!!

This is a really cool video - and sad that it's not so untrue.lol I hope that Meat and crew are flying Air NZ - Qantas is always affected by strikes but I can't remember when Air NZ last had any trouble - we don't have the union problems they have in Australia. They can fly straight to LA from Auckland, no worries.
