Just got back to my apartment from having an MRI done on my left knee....... Nobody told me MRIs were torture!!!! 30 min strapped down to a table with the machine almost touching my chin, afraid I would sneeze or twitch and listening to "country gold" thru the headphones.  I got back in my car, cranked up the speakers & listened to the live version of Bat Out Of Hell just to get the "bad taste" out of my mouth.... Yeeesh! LOL

Yeah MRIs are not fun are they, then again, I feel asleep in the machine when I last had a scan. so I think I got away with it.

I loved my MRI! Once I'd got used to the enclosed space I actually quite enjoyed being left alone after a busy day at work dealing with other people's crap! Nice little hide away!!

I've got a physio session on Monday for my recent back injury, and the consultant mentioned something about the possibility of MRI, so I hope it isn't that bad! Than again it CANNOT be worse than a barium enema!

It's really not that bad Sean, you just lie back and listen to the radio. I had a scan back in February then a load of physio, and I'll tell you what...if you physio is anything like mine it's not the scan you want to be worrying about!!! The manipulation has been fantastic and really works but god it's painful, she really goes deep into my muscles to free them up, last session I had to tell her to stop because I couldn't take it anymore!

Good luck!

The physio has hurt like hell on occassions and you need to get straight home to an ice pack but god it's worth it, you'll feel amazing once the sore-ness has gone.

I've got an MRI on Thursday and I am dreading it.

I've had one before but that was so long ago that I can barely remember it.

Good luck! And definitely ask for music if you can... The one I mentioned in the original post was my first MRI so I know what you meant by "dread." :)

Thanks.

A few people have suggested I take a favourite CD along in the hope that they'll let me play it.

I'm trying to decide what CD to take at the moment.

Not sure if a cd will work since the MRI is magnetic... :-/ You can try though!
