I know his more recent models (the Union Flag and the US Stars and Stripes that appeared durin gthe HCTB tour) have been BC Rich Mockingbirds, as is the NY Yankees guitar he's used in the past.
I think the black acoustic guitar he uses on stage is a Washburn, but can't rememebr exactly, can't rememebr what the other wooden bodied electric is that he often uses (the one with the car number plate scratch guard). Way back I've seen Meat use Gibson Les Paul guitars ... again I think the US and GB flag guitars used by Meat and John Parr on the Rock and Roll Mercnearies video were Les Paul's |

I'm curious to know if he actually can play, and to what extent. On recent tours he's just been strumming without holding any chords in think (not to mention that the guitars weren't even plugged in).
On a sidenote I've just seen Bon Jovi last week and I was shocked how little he could (did) actually play! |

I think he answered that in a recent video didn't he? .. He can play chords but doesn't describe himself as a guitar player

I can't wait to see him with an Aussie flag on his guitar at the Australian shows.

Nunu Bettingcort.... something like that, its a washburn I think. But thats the general gist of the name, there was one for sale at a guitar shop around here that I was going to buy, but they only had the cheaper version.

No he didn't. I always figured that Meat was able to play but preferred to sing. On BBIS I think he just did bits here and there. If he did more, we would have heard about it and he would have played more on other albumns |

Or it could just be Meat playing. With a bit of practice I don't doubt Meat could play that part. Springsteen really doesn't play much live. He just strums along and sometimes I wonder if he's actually playing all the time. I think when Meat plays, he actually plays. But he's paid to sing and that's what he does best. |

He can play a few chords, but he still doesn't think he can "play". He is plugged in though at the end of the recent shows during the Revved Up/Freebird Medely. Sure sounds like something is coming off those strings. ![]() |

Not bashing the boss, but some of the videos I've seen, he is just strumming up and down, regardless of the song. The solos he plays are ok and he does well. As far as Meat goes, if he's not really playing then whats the point? |

Back in his Jersey Shore days, Bruce had a reputation as being one of the best guitarists on the shore. In fact, ant one point, his nickname was "The Philly Flash" because he was so fast. Over the years, though, he decided to concentrate on his songwriting rather than trying to be guitar hero. Here's "The Wind and the Rain" from Bruce's Steel Mill days: Part I: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omfInocGYnU Part II: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jFUptqHlzc4 Here's a more recent solo from the last tour: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CqEvIzgOiVU I think he does some great guitar work even here, with his brother-in-law's band: ![]() http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Q0MZJ6jQk8 |
