Default B sides

On most of his recent single releases, the B-sides have all been live versions of old songs, which have been great but I reckon that Meat should record some special songs to go on the singles. Think about it... let's say he release three singles, all of them on two different CDs, with three B sides on each. Now my maths ain't great but that means 18 new songs! Now fair enough - let's have one or two new live songs. No matter what, read em and weep, execution day, one's that most people dont own. 'Cos I reckon I've got at least ten different versions of anything for love, and if there's another one on any of Meat's new singles, I dont think I'd be annoyed... more disappointed. Why doesn't Meat record som covers of songs he likes by other artists? Why not throw it open to his fans. A vote, say, where we all het to choose a song we'd love to hear Meat sing. Why not something comical like 'Fat Bottomed Girls' or an all time classic like 'American Trilogy'? Why doesn't Meat record his favourit Elvis song, or maybe a newer song like Wonderwall or something? The possibilities are endless. I doubt I'm on my own in thinking this... What does everyone else think? And how can I get Meat to read this message so he can think about my idea?

New songs are cool, but there are some of us who would prefer Meat to always be live.

If Meat did Home By Now - LIVE as a B side then I'd be the smiliest little thing around!

It would be cool though to hear Meat do some of his personnal favourites though, but I'm sure what ever comes up will be brilliant as ever ( especially if Tom Brislin is on it )

Lucy,
Have you become a "regular YWS fan?"

Never heard one YWS song - but I've definately become a regular Tom Brislin fan!

Personally, I wouldn't mind him doing a very rare B-side again, `Lost Love', except that I would like it better if it were on Fun House itself. The song was co-written by Meat and Steve Buslowe, and in my opinion is one of the best non-Jim songs he has done, and the best he has had a part in writing.

Where is that song from?

Back to my original point, I hope there are new live versions of songs that normally don't come out as B-sides, like Surf's Up, or other not-so-well-known songs. Or some crazy covers of songs instead. Surely somewhere there must be recordings of all the other songs meat has recorded.

According to the Escape From Hell website, Lost Love was the B-side on If You Really Want To. However, my copy of the song was on the Hits Out Of Hell compilation I bought (it was the last track). Since I can't find any copy of HOOH on the net that has it, I think my copy must be a limited edition.
