Default Wedding song?

Ok, so I'm the groom and I have the music remote control... well, ok, so I get to choose a few songs. Of course, we need a Meat Loaf number - but which one? One that'll get people dancing, one that's not too long (which rules most Steinman songs out), one that I love (which would be most). Which one?!?!

Even if my DJ doesn't have great taste in music, I think I've got all Meat Loaf songs on one CD or another, so pretty much anything goes!

Remember, this has to be a happy, crowd-pleasing song that doesn't last excessively long. I'd love to have Paradise but you have to consider the grannies who might not appreciate such a song.

Many thanks

Geoff M.

If you want to dance, let's play Dance In My Pants (remix) by Jim Steinman. If you don't have this one, Dead Ringer is okay. Paradise is a bad choice, cause it's long and the speech part is standing.

If you want a ballad, I have to agree, Surf's Up is the best choice...

Jumpin' The Gun
Modern Girl
Dead Ringer For Love
You Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth (Hot Summer Night)

They are lively and not too long, hope that helps a bit and will guarantee people up and dancing .

When I got married I insisted on Anything For Love as our 1st dance.

Later in the evening we played Dead Ringer & this got everyone up dancing

Me and my wife had Because of You for our wedding song, then we had Paradise, which was requested, I asked for Mercury Blues, but I had to bring my own CD for the DJ, as he didn't have it, so passed it to him, before reception, alot got up for this Rock'n'Roll song.

Well I personally have gotten p!ssed with hearing it, but that aside. It's a completely unoriginal song for weddings just like Summer Nights from Grease. It's a song you have on your playlist with the Birdie Dance, Oops Up Side Your Head and Macarena

A bad Meat Loaf karaoke rendition should be left for the pub and not a wedding IMO

My best friend got married last year and wanted a ballad for their first dance together. i suggested "I'd lie for you", she chose it and couldn't believe the words, cos they were so her and him!

Everyone loved it, even the grannies!
