Default 24. If You Really Want To

This is the START OUT OF HELL & ARRIVE TO HEAVEN topic.
Let's Go to Rock 'n' Roll!!!!!!!

If You Really Want To (7)

A good alternative song. Razor's Edge and If You Really Want To give a frame to this album. In this song (his lyrics) I can find a deep emotion. This is the song of self-sacrificing:
"If you really want to I'd love to hold you"

A little bit dark, a little bit lonely, a little bit depressive.
That's the matter that the music isn't mirror of the lyrics.

My score: 7

Average: 7.31 (58.5/8 )

This is quite a good song.
I like the contradictions in the song. The verse is saying this is what you feel like, then the chorus is saying here is what you could do instesd.
Meat's voice is nice and strong especially on "The Pain Awaaaaayyyy..."
I don't think the music lets Meat down too much.During the verses the music is subdued to give a depresive mood and I think it works.
7/10 Chases the pain away.
P.S. The songwritters are credited as T.Neeley and G.Meyer.
There is a singer called Ted Neeley, who starred in the 1973 Universal Studios film Jesus Christ Superstar in the title role.Does anybody know if it's the same guy?

I would give that song an 8 all they way, its really awesome, and the video is humerous, anybody see it? wanna see it? i have it. But what is awesome, is the way he sings it, and the beat is fun to listen to, i personally stopped listening to it for a bit. because i ordered the album, and i want to enjoy the song fresh and new again, so when i receive the album, i will be playing it a lot, don't u find the songs from the album are short? its okay, they're short but catchy, like green day. although i'm not comparing meat to them, although, they are my 2nd fav band. MEAT is first. without doubt.

Love the album anyway - Midnight at the Lost and Found came in for a great deal of flak on its release - not warranted in my opinion. 8/10

What does that mean: great deal of flak?

Many people critisised the album as they felt musically, lyrically that it didn't suit Meat, and perhaps it was to different, and that without Steinman, Meat couldn't possibly hope to release a 'commercial' album.
