Default Love at first sight / true love, do you believe in it?

(With this being the 'Off Topic' section, I guess it is safe to post it here)

Do you believe in love at first sight / true love and that there is a special someone out there for you? I for one do believe in it!

In my opinion, yes.

The first time I saw my love, I knew he was the one...I didn't even talk to him that night, but I ended the relationship that I was in (with my mean ex) the very next day.

We soon started dating, that was 3 years ago, and now we're engaged.

and I love him more every day.

I dunno about 'love at first sight', but i do believe in 'lust at first sight'.

To fall in love with someone takes time, i think, you hafta get to know them and they you. I believe in having an intense 'like' for someone who you want to get to know better in every way possible.

Personally, i've been in love maybe two or thee times, i've been in like loads, and i'm in a permanant state of lust with certain people!!!!!

I absolutely believe. The first time I saw my husband, that was it. He was nothing like what I imagined myself with, or any of the guys I had gone out with before. But, after one look, I was done for. Now it's been 17 years :)

Fairytale nonsense. I think it's entirely possible for one to go through life without loving anyone or ever being loved.

Being a romantic at heart I do believe in it.

Maybe there is just one and when you find them, you have to grab them with both hands and hang on to their heart with all your strength.

Maybe it is all down to pure fluke as to whether it happens or not. But when it does, never let it go!

I believe in lust at first sight. To fall in love I think you have to get to know someone better. You then fall in love with the real person. Too many people put over a front on the first meeting.

I fell in lust with Tom when I was sweet 17. This soon became love and we moved in together 6 months later and are still together 16 years later.

I don't however believe that there is only one person out there for you. I think there are several different people who you could come to love.

I've learnt the hard way that love at firsdt sight just doesn't happen, ever!

Lust as first sight does, and that's a good enough feeling (isn't that right CC?)

Lust at first sight yes, Love at first sight, as much as I would like to believe it, I would have to say no

I think you can fall in love at first meeting, and you can fall in lust .. for me there's a palpable difference, and whilst sometimes the pair walk hand in hand, it's not always so. Whether being in love will sustain itself and develop into a love that stays the course depends on circumstance, reciprocity, and mutual commitment .. it needs generosity, you need to work at it and hold each other in mutual respect and esteem.

And yes, I'm sure some people go through their lives without experiencing it, but if we are blessed we find it, and then it's up to us to do our best to make it work. I've been in love many times, in lust not a few .. I've loved and made it work, and I've loved and lost. The wonderful thing is that it's always possible one might love and make it work again :)

Love at first sight is a load of old toilet paper, I don't believe it happens and anyone who says it does has been reading too many Mills & Boons books.

I think someone can be very attracted to someone (lust if you like) at first sight and maybe there's a strong connection there but like what someone rightly said love takes time to develop.

And anyone who goes through life without ever loving or being loved then that's a real shame as love should be the one thing that makes our life complete.

I believe in love at first meeting, because it happened to me.
I met Christian 4 and half years ago at a birthday party. After that evening we phoned a lot (as we lived 400km apart) . two months later we were "together" (is it called that in english?!)
And it is still a very good relationship today and we will marry someday in the future...

I believe in Love at first sight. I married mine!
He walked into the shop I worked at and I just felt that melting sensation and thought I wanna be with you!!!
I waited for him to ask me out and 2 months later he did! We have been married nearly 15 years!

Hugs

Oh Feleena that's a lovely story .. and was exactly what happened with my parents. My father went into a shop she was visiting and she said to my grandmother "That's the man I'm going to marry" .. and 6 months later she did :)
