This post is for everybody (2 people in particular) who have come on here and had the nerve to slam his amazing concerts. Meat Loaf is the most musically talented man on earth and he puts in 150% every time he is on stage. u can see it in the way he gets on stage and i'd like to see YOU people trying to do a concert about 20 times a month. Especially when your not feeling 100% healthy and u have just come out of hospital. hes only human u stupid people. hes so dedicated to what he does and why do you people bother going to his concerts. he deserves respect.. and keep your lies and wrong opinions to urself. Music these days is full of manufactuared talentless singers so u should hold on to treasures like Meat Loaf because as much as i want him to be, he won't be around for ever. He sings live, he never mimes, he plays his own instruments, wat more do you stupid poeple want??? all he's doing is providing entertainment for you people in this hard world. Why are you people trying to put him off and ruin it for everyone?

Can't argue with any of that Emily .. but they only do it to annoy and to try to get attention.. Meat's getting wonderful reviews from people who have gone to see the show with an open mind and a desire to be thoroughly entertained by one of the greats ..

And you can tell in the arenas that he's thoroughly appreciated by all those who would not call themselves "fans" as such, but who think he's a terrific performer, pay for their tickets and go to concerts, sit and enjoy the show without standing, singing etc, but who applaud after each song and cheer and applaud at the end. I have several friends in this category. They go to one show each tour, come out saying they've thoroughly enjoyed it, and I'm sure Meat is as pleased to have them in his audience as any others :)

Maybe it's just me but I really don't understand people like that. Why spend your money to go to a concert and then complain about it? Not only that but GO OUT OF YOUR WAY to complain about it. If it was a case of bad behaviour by an artist MAYBE then I would complain (still don't think I'd go OUT OF MY WAY to go to their site tho'). Chalk it up to a disappointment and don't go again if that's how you feel. Why show how immature you are/can be by doing something so stupid? I have every confidence in Meat and his abilities to not only sing and put on the best performance he can but to make decisions for himself as to whether he can or can't make it out on the stage to give us the show of a lifetime. He knows what we want and he gives from his heart everytime he walks out on that stage. You can't ask for more from someone and that's one of many reasons why I have so much respect for him. You can't please all the people all the time but God bless the man, he tries. Screw 'em if they just don't get it!!!

Any body who spends the amount of money that most do to see meatloaf in concert and day say how bad it is is insane Meat loaf is a born showman whenever i have seen him live or in tv he has always given it his best more then anyone could ask of him. He is dedicated to his work and to his fans. I was at wembely that sad evening in november i saw him give it his all and the pain when he had to finish. Most performers would never of got on stage. and he has shown the man he is for the 22nd of january. I will always be a fan and admire al the hard work he does he is one in a million and any one who bags to differ can take a ran and jump. they would not reconigise true talent if it came up and kick them in the a**

You said that perfectly Emily, you couldn't say it any better, I couldn't have said it better myself. this man IS dedicated and he is focused in what he believes what he does. This is the main reason why he's A Rock N Roll Hero. This man, I look up too, for all of his characteristics. He always says how he's boring in real life. True or not, I don't care, I'm a boring individual myself, but Every so often, this character comes out of me EVEN i don't recognise. We all have this character, its just sometimes, it doesn't come out. Meat's character comes out, and he takes us to a place of Happiness & sadness, even humorous. This man is a Rock N Roll gem, whether he believes it or not, Thank You Meat, you have done a lot FOR so many, including myself. Thanks again.

Not jumping to the defence of anyone here but if someone pays good money to see somebody or something then surely they have the right to complain if they don't feel they're getting their money's worth.

I'm going to see Meat at Christchurch in March and I'm really looking forward to it but despite how much effort he puts in or how much I've spent on a ticket, if I feel the show was poor then surely that is my right to say so.

I know that the majority of this board are crazy (in a good sense) Meat Loaf fans but to jump down someones throat for saying anything that might be deemed negative towards Meat is just plain silly.

It's their own personal opinion and one that is not necessarily shared by everyone but it doesn't make it wrong and equally doesn't make it right.

Sorry Pud, it's not as simple as that. This has been about people posting on OIFC site vitriolic and ludicrous comments about shows that it seems likely they did not even attend. To say you went to a show and didn;t enjoy it is one thing .. to attempt to ridicle the man and his fans, accuse him of being on cocaine, say he couldn't sing a note (when he was in superb voice) and just behave like a total tosspot to get attention and upset a board is something else .. After all .. we don't tell you not to say shut up to someone who behaves like an arse on the Rockman board do we now? :) :)

"Meat is the most musically talented man on Earth". This - no matter how much we all love his voice and what he does with it and no matter how much he makes us feel so unbelievably sorry for Robert Paulson - is probably not true.

My point is a couple of morons posting some crap about stuff they don't even know is no reason to lose ourselves in a flurry of angry words or frustration or whatever.

If these fools posted it in the first place are they the kind of person to read your post and go "WHOA! My Life is a useless lie, Meat is a hard working guy and I'm beginning to feel sorry for him all of a sudden".

No. No they are not. But that's OK cause they are also nothing to lose sleep over. Who cares what they say? Me? Nope. Couldn't care less what comes out of their mouth cause I ain't listening anyways. These guys are of no consequence and mean nothing.

Meat does .. rightly or wrongly, but imo unerstandably, he does.

Now I agree it's better to ignore them on the board where they've posted, but I think it's also understandable that people are expressing their feelings here, particularly when they know how great a show was and how much the man gives of himself.

Like you, I don't get angry about them any more .. just tired really because they're pathetic. But I do understand that some people do get upset, and in particular Meat. It doesn't matter that it may be a lie .. it doesn't feel good to see lies about you on the internet and as Meat has said, he's as sensitive as any performer and more so than most. That's all part and parcel of the man we love and respect .. so when he's upset many of us get upset too ..

I went to the Cardiff concert, accompanied by my slightly reluctant OH, he is more of a Buddy Holly, Elvis fan, bit of an anorak on the subject really. I really thought that he was not going to enjoy the show and would probably end up going back to the car to wait for me (no way was I going to leave the concert halfway through, and he knew it)

Halfway through the first number I glanced behind me, expecting to see Mr Grumpy, I was somewhat staggered to see him positively beaming and bouncing around to the music. Later he said it was the one of best concerts he'd been to (and we've seen The Everlys, Duane Eddy, Jerry Lee, Little Richard, The Stones and Chuck Berry) so that was quite a statement coming from him ! He was still raving about it three days later.

So if my OH enjoyed and appreciated Meat, even though he wasn't a fan, what is wrong with these people who are supposed to be his fans.

"They only to it to annoy because they know it teases" Epona imo.

My take on them is that they like to upset people, like to grab attention, get a response from the man himself .. and if he offers to give them backstage passes to say it to his face, they've really scored! They'd accept, be nice as pie, give him a stuffed toy and come back on the OIFC board crowing that they'd met him and the rest of the fans who love and respect him didn't! And Meat, being a kindly soul, wouldn't give them the kick in the rear they deserved, but would be polite and gentlemanly.

Glad your bloke had such a good time :) But that's the thing about Meat .. you don't have to be a "fan" to have a wonderful time at one of his concerts .. but to attend one is often to have an experience like Paul on the road to Damascus :)

id like to add another point - that when those small minded individuals come on to the board with only one intention - to critisise Meat and his concerts....then they are also criticising the rest of the band who work extremely hard at what they do - Kasim, Patti, Paul, Randy, John, CC and all the crew. the amount of planning and rehersing, tears and sweat that goes into a concert (never mind 50+ concerts all over the world in a few months) is phenomenal and even if one does not enjoy the concert they should appreciate such effort. To come on here and slag him off, lie and totally degrade Meat and his work is disgusting. this is Meats job afterall and to say a man is not good at his job will of course hurt him - so people should stop being so bloody insensitive.
Saying that, Meat should also try to take all this crap in his stride and remember that what these people say about him wont make any difference to the way his true fans feel about him. he must not forget that there are only a handful of those prics but thousands of fans that love him and all he does

Meat like any artists have their good and their bad days. I havent been to a bad concert of his yet. However that doesnt mean he hasnt had his share of them. I know that at Wolf Trap somoen said his voice wasnt very godo and that he fell off the stage. Doesnt mean it was a bad concert it just meant that things happen. I think it was Chicago where Meat was in a lot of physical pain(i think it was an injury of some kind? He stopped for a bit and sat down and cried as he was in pain. I wasnt actaully there but that is what I had been told happend on that particular night. So many people who dont "understand" him rridicule him due to his "name".."Meat Loaf" and his size. Some cant deal with the mixture of rock n roll and classical. I personally like that mixture myself lol. Keep in mind all artists are put down for a lot of different reasons. I could put down some but its not worth it and so could anyone. As was already said they just want attention and to "start trouble". They are however enttiled to their opinions IF that is what it is? We may never really know..
