Default CHSIB USA Single Launched

Found the following on James Micaels website:
-------------------------------------------------------
Couldn't Have Said It Better" Now On Much Music

The video for "Couldn't Have Said It Better" featuring JM playing bass was added to Canada's Much Music TV this week. The record will be released in Canada in September.

Couldn't Have Said It Better" Released In The U.S. And Canada

Meat Loaf's Long awaited record "Couldn't Have Said It Better" is scheduled to be released in the United States on Sanctuary Records in September. The first single "Could Have Said It Better" went to Hot AC radio this week. Call your local radio station and request "Couldn't Have Said It Better" by Meat Loaf.
-------------------------------------------------------------

So it looks like there is a single release in the USA!! And also the air play and video plays have begun! I like the sound of Sanctaury...so far!!!!!

Have a look at the promo thread/forum for the sites supplying this information and links.
There are also lots of ideas about requests, for example do not mass mail stations in one email with lots of addressses, send individual emails if this is how you make your request.

Thanks for the info Chris! Now I am off to email and call my local stations. We Americans must get ML into the Top 10 just as our British friends here did. Charge!

I'm there with you Sherrie Though I think the 2 Sept single release is just to the radio ... being I guess the title track to promote the album, and doesn't imply a single arriving in the stores. None have a single listed as a release, and the websites offering the album on pre-order don't list a single. Amazon actually lists the German single as an import. But given how difficult it seems to be to get singles up the charts, at least all our efforts can be aimed at getting CHSIB played to promote sale of one product .. the album .. which charted higher here . So if sales aren't split between single and album .. (looking for a smiley with crossed fingers but can't find one :) )

I noted it on the CHSIB forum that I was just at the station I work at and they had the single in the building. I would dare say that a request or 2 (or 3 or 4) would be in order.

Is that just something that radio stations get in order to be able to play it(promo pack, whatever), or is it actually a single that will be sold in stores?

Thanks for the heads up Lady B! None of the stations around here had it as of two or three days ago, but hopefully they either have received it or will be soon. Let's get CHSIB in some heavy rotation!

As none of the major US chains had it on their list of expected releases last week Shane, and those websites that are offering the US album for pre-order make no mention of a single (Amazon offers the imported German single) I would assume that the release to US radio stations is a series of edits of the title track to promote the album. It will be interesting to hear what stations say when they start playing it .. my guess is they'll be referring to Meat's "new album"

I left the promo pack (my surprise prize) in the temporary custody of Rochelle, one of the jocks at the AC station who's possibly a great influence on the PD (more so than I anyway) and maybe we can get something there. She says the PD there tends to go with what R & R is showing as the hot music. R & R, aka Radio & Records, is one of the trade magazines that a lot of stations go by. I'm going to see if I can find their site and find something out over the next few days/weeks as well as maybe hijack an issue or 2 from the station for a few days. I do like some of the articles in them but everybody gets to read the issues before I even have a chance to. They post charts in the issues of most every type of music.

BTW . . . I was all alone at the station last night and popped the video into the VCR and cranked the speakers a bit in the production room. Oh what an experience it was!!!
