Two things
Two things,
1. When will we be able to see the video for "Did I Say That" cause i read on the loafdom forum that it was crap, which i cannot belive. So i would like to see it asap so i can make a decision. 2. What do you think the chances of the single or album being number 1? |
I've also heard that the video was and is crap. Well, haven't seen it myself, but what i've heard, it is not like the earlier vids of Meat Loaf.
I think that i'm start worrying about this whole project!! It's hard to say, but let's face it: -Did I Say That is not good at all -The Video, of what i've heard, is crap -3 different names for the album, and finally it is there -first release in germany :? -Duet with Shakira Am i still the only one?? I mean, i'm a huge fan, don't get me wrong, but this is my opinion, and i'm fair. Oh my god, i didn't give it up, but........well..... |
I absolutely don't agree with that Did I Say That is not good. I think it's a very good song, not as good as Steinman stuff, but it's better than many songs on Midnight and Blind.
Shakira sings very well. I don't have an opinion about the video. No I know the reason why you're not getting a forum!! :D |
Is that the reason?? I give my opinion?? And that's why i don't get a forum?? Well okay, i can agree with that......but were will this end. LOL
|
The video for Did I Say That being crap huh, from the way i see it it's something like what the video of Not A Dry Eye In The House was or maybe even the type of music videos nearly all artist use today (The ones with various things or visualisations going on while the song is playing) But i just hope there's other videos to the song on the album as well. I personally think the song Did I Say That is good. But you know what they say "Everyone is entitled to there own opinion." What's in the video anyway?
|
To be honest: I have my doubts too, about wether or not it'll be succesfull I mean.
DIST just took some getting used to, everytime I hear the song, it sounds better for my ears. The Video: haven't seen it myself. Heard from 1 person so far that is wasn't good. Duet with Shakira: actually looking forward to that. You might be surprised about the combination... |
Oh Gawd, what have i started. I think if all the quicker bits are kept in the radio version and alot of the slower bits are left out the song should do just fine in the charts.
|
First I'd like tell you, DTFW: "Hello!"
1: I have never seen this video, cause I haven't got music channel... 2: Did I Say That is a good song (maybe 7 :D )! I can't believe that a Meat song will be number 1! Not Did I Say That! Meat Loaf hasn't chances in this music world! You know, Eminem is the best...   |
 Personally,I like Did I say that.Meat has done better songs, but this is still a good song.
The video?I havn't seen it so I can't comment too much about that, but I think any Meat Loaf video is a bonus :D .Also (too anybody who has seen it) what is it about the video you don't like?Is Meat in the video? As for the title changes and the fact that the album has taken so long too come out,I think that could be a good sign.It is a good indicator that Meat wanted to get everything just right before releasing it (or am I just being too over optomistic? ) Shikira?I've yet too be convinced :? . I hope both the singles and the album do well in the charts.Meat deserves it. |
Hello White of High, I think if Meat doesn't get in the top 10 with this new song then he might do it with CHSIB as it is supposed to be like AFL. Also if Meat doesnt do well this time round, dont worry, cause if he releases BAT3 before he is 60 the single from that should definately go number 1.
Meat would have a chance at number because the music in 1993 was all rubish and differnt and Meat made his comeback and got the number 1 spot. |
Did I Say That is a good song but it would be much better if the song was faster for longer. It sounds great when it is going fast. I'm a big Meat fan and love his music but if this is one of the better songs on the album then I really cant see it doing well. Some songs on the Welcome to the Neighbourhood album are much better.

This IS a discussion forum. You just started one. Anyway - as this topic isn't general at all, it's oing to be moved to the CHSIB forum. Keep posting folks. 8) |
O.k guys, this is my opinion
I am a MEAT LOAF fan, his voice, his atmosphere, his stage tactics and even his acting. I don't think that every song Meat releases should be written by Jim Steinman. I think Meats solo stuff is just as good as Steinman stuff, and I think Did I Say That is another amazing song by opinionly the King Of Rock. Haven't seen the video as of yet, but I think it will be amazing. |

WTTN was a great album, most songs no Steinman lyrics. So I don't say that Meat needs Steinman to be at his best, but... well, for me, the combi Meat/Steinman is goddamnit irresistable. |

And i don't think it has all to do with the lyrics. Also the music is very important. Ofcourse a good combination is magical, but with some music it think words are more important, but from some music only i get the chickenskin. But let's face it: we are spoiled with Bat 1 and Bat 2!! Now Bat 3! |

Excactly right: sometime's it's the lyrics that get to me, and sometimes it's the music... |
TIM
Tim, responding to your points in your first post:
-Did I Say That is not good at all I disagree. It's not Meat's best work, but it still is very good in my opinion. I would say that it is probably one of Meat's best "non-Jim" songs. -The Video, of what i've heard, is crap I haven't seen the video. I don't think one has even been made or completed yet. All that I have heard is that DIST is the theme music for a German television show or something like that. Apparently the director of the music video has also directed music videos for Korn, and there is a picture of James Michael with Meat on James Michael taken at the place where the video was shot. James Michael mentioned on his website that he enjoyed watching Meat acting out the song. -3 different names for the album, and finally it is there I guess Meat's vision for the album has changed or evolved over time. The title may have been changed from Testify because of Phil Collin's album of the same name that came out recently, or it could have been to draw more attention to the title track, Couldn't Have Said It Better. -first release in germany There's nothing wrong with that. Of course, I wish it had been released in New Zealand first. We all wish that it had been released in our own countries first. But it has to start somewhere. Europe (and Germany) has been very good to Meat in the past. -Duet with Shakira I think this is a good thing, an I am looking forward to it. Some people on one of the mailing lists say that she is the spoken voice on Tear Me Down. |

Question: Why does a video clip in b&w su<k? 8O  R. |
Everybody has his own opinion. Offcourse.....
And well....as i said before, i will wait till i heard the whole album, but for now that's my opinion. And i know, it sounds very hard and tough. but that doesn't mean that i'm no fan anymore, like other people said  |

He wrote: "Saw Meats "Did I Say That" video on German clip channel Viva today. It is not good.In no way comparable to the Michael Bay videos from Bat II or WelcomeTTN. Mainly black and white with some terribly made dream figures put in." |
 Meat Loaf and Napoleon.I never thought I would use those words in the same sentence 8O .(Hey R. we are talking the short Corsican guy with his hand stuffed in his shirt right?).
I think Meat is doing a black and white video to bring a little more realism to the forties crime comics style he's trying to portray 8) .Not a bad thing, but I do prefare his old mystical rock star style  . It's a shame Michael Bay isn't directing. His previous work with Meat was great.Maybe he's busy on another project (in which case "Projects In The Rear View Mirror May Apear Closer Than They Are").(Sorry  ) |
Anybody can tell me where would I hear "Did I Say That" in Napoleon? Which part of film and which sence? I heard it nowhere...
|
Thought it was the main music, or how do you call that, kind of soundtrack.......so go and see....and maybe you will hear it.
