Two Out Of Three - Killed... EEEEEEEWWWWW

You thought Bonnie Tylers version was bad.

Just on Napster and found Marie Mazziotti's 2000 album 'This Time From The Heart' and she covers (and Kills) the song...

It's ****ing shit!

My God, yes I did, and I was so surprised! Her version of Making Love is great, and she has done loads of great Steintracks.

Her version of 2 out of 3 ain't bad, it's f-ing awful (see what I did there? :sneaky: :lawl: ). IT IS NOT A DISCO SONG!

If there is a worse version out there, I do not want to hear it ! :D

Paul191 14 Jul 2006 23:06

Just heard the song also and it is awful!!!

RSG 14 Jul 2006 23:35

I heard a country version with male vocals the other day. I suppose its only a matter of taste, but I didn't care for it. The accoustic guitar was nice though.

Dave 15 Jul 2006 05:00

Hey now...I quite fancy Bonnie's 2OO3!

Pudding 15 Jul 2006 12:23

Bonnie's version sucks.

The country version RSG heard is probably Julian Austin, although Nitty Gritty Dirt Band did a cover back in '84. I think some of the songs could work quite well country-fied. Bat Out Of Nashville would have been errrr interesting to say the least.

Pud

ChloeLee88 15 Jul 2006 13:24

I havnt heard any other version....i can't imagine anyone else singing that song!!

Thanks for the leads on other artists - I am getting hold of those tracks. Bat Out Of Nashville would be hilarious (either because it is so good, or so bad!)

Dave 17 Jul 2006 04:51

I still stand by the fact that Bonnie Tyler's Two Out Of Three is quite good for what it is.

Well, actually it is surprisingly catchy - I think it probably falls into the category of "so bad its good"!

Dave 18 Jul 2006 02:54

Not at all...I have to disagree with you on that...

Bonnie's 2OO3 is a very good song in the "dance/techno" genre of music.

Jaymze 18 Jul 2006 16:32

Well Steinman said he wrote 2 outta 3 with a country theme in mind. I can imagine it as a country song, I think itīd sound quite good.

Diane 18 Jul 2006 16:41

Jim has also said that the lyrics to Two Out Of Three are his twist on the Elvis song I Want You, I Need You, I Love You. It's another terrific example of just how amazing Jim is with everyday cliches.

Jim did play and sing a country version of part of Two Out Of Three. I think from memory it's on the Classic Albums dvd.

Diane

AndyK 18 Jul 2006 16:46

It is Classic ALbums Diane, ... and one day I"ll persuade the Band With No Name to include it in our repetoire ...

The Flying Mouse 18 Jul 2006 20:32

 It is very good the way Jimmy sings in on the Classic Albums DVD :D
Very different
Don't know how much i'd listen to it actually recorded like that, but a great little novelty :D

PanicLord 18 Jul 2006 21:18

I actually quite like Julian Austin's version. It works very well as a country song. Bring on Bat Out Of Nashville.

szakal88 15 Aug 2006 14:11

I read that Jim wrot that song only to win bet with his friend. He said to Jim that Jim couldn't write a song about anything. So they bet. His firend said "Ok, 2 out of 3 aint' bad, wrie a song about that". Did any one knows is it true??

The Flying Mouse 15 Aug 2006 14:28

 Never heard that one before.
Jimmy tells a very different story on the Classic Albums documentry.

samurai7 15 Aug 2006 18:30

The story behind Bonnie's version is this:

She and Jim were discussing Nikki French's version of 'Total Eclipse', and so they decided to make 'Two Out Of Three' into a disco song before someone else did. In other words, Jim decided that if anyone should mangle one of his songs, it should be him.

Actually, I quite like it. (gets ready for the attack!)

I mean, it should end after about 5 minutes, not go on to nearly 9, but it's not horrible...

wenners 15 Aug 2006 21:53

If there is a worse version than bonnie's of 2 out of 3 i dont want to hear it.

i'm still traumatised from this version.

Kev 16 Aug 2006 18:57

RadioMaster 16 Aug 2006 19:05

rockyboy74 18 Aug 2006 12:23

See what u mean just heard it on Napster and my god must be one of the worst covers that I have ever heard. No one should be alllowed to do any of his as covers as no one will do it like the man himself. Couldnt find Bonnie's though but will keep searching.
