This weeks Album Charts?
 ok I'm a tad worried  I have been requesting CHSIB on my local radio station since release. They have just played it as part of their weeks review of the album charts and they are placing it at No. 11    As they link up to HMV for their charts I dunno if its sales related or what and they aint answering the phone
Does anyone have any info or news on what we can expect this week :??: :??: |
Sin - that is a tad worrying 8O
I was in HMV today and CHSIB was at #2 in the album charts, so i don't know what's going on.... :? Heat xxx |
Very bad news. "CHSIB" has dropped to #12 in this weeks UK official album chart.
   |
damn :x
|
:( awww man
|
....
|
    I'm totally shattered
Whilst record stores make offers encouraging people to buy other albums this will happen. |
Gawd this is so terrible, i mean its a ~~~~ing disgrace, that means the shite busted are ahead of Meat. People will start saying this is another "Blind Before i Stop" which we know it isn't, it is far superior to any CD today in every way. This really enrages  :x me when the public refuse to appreciate good music.
|
i reckon this must have a lot to do with HMV as they are probably the main contributors to the charts.
It really sucks that one large company can affect things this much :( |
What else is there to say???
Gutted!!!! :? :( Heat xxx |
Quote:
And thats putting it politey Heat my language has been much more flowery      |
So what is everybody doing?
What success have we had? What works best? What else can we do? Are there message boards, offices etc where there is no information? Is anyone driving a car without something to alert people to the new album? Are there any letters page in local papers that haven't had letters? What's happeing? |

While 12th isn't great and I wish it was higher, keep in mind Meat has never been what you would call mainstream. The British public has given him great support over the years, probably better per capita than the larger and more diverse American public. I think 4th the first week and 12th the second isn't actually bad considering half the people buying CD's can't remember back 7 years when Meat last released an album. And he's had stiff competition w/ other new releases. He ain't no Madonna or Justin Timberlake (thank God). I love the fact it entered the charts there as the #1 Rock album. And if you scroll down, you see at #18 (up from 22) is BOOH, after over 25 years. That says a lot more to me about whether this album (and Meat) is accepted and respected, than the pop chart which is currently topped by Timberlake. :!: Rock 'n Roll will never die, but the public's taste can sure turn to sheet. End of rant, T |
:D :D :D :D
|
could i just say that not being a meat fan BEFOR (i am now though) this realy did it for me, :D i got CHSIB from play.com and have worn it out, i am a total fan the man is fab, He`s got such feelig in his songs. Welcome! |
"CHSIB" is this week's #13 in the UK official album chart.
|
:bunny: :bunny: :bunny: :bunny: :bunny: :bunny:
|
The album is down 3 places to #16 in the charts this week so it must still be selling quite a few copies (which, IMHO, is good considering there's little promotion for it in UK at the moment).
In the rock singles chart CHSIB is down 4 places from #7 to #11 (which just goes to prove that there are an awful lot of singles currently in the charts that are not rock music!) Sue http://www.KasimInfo.com |
This is still pretty good, I think.
Thank you, Sue. Great day to you, Mariella |
Yeah that's not too bad, still top 20 so...
|
like Sue said considering the lack of promotion this is good. I wonder if the GN show will have any effect on sales??
|
Promotion won't work anymore. He needs a new single to rock the chart again :D
|
Hey, Bart! You know, I've been thinking the same thing!!
I've been wondering if that's why Meat scheduled the UK concerts in the middle of the first US leg of the World tour--to come out with the second single from CHSIB. OR the rerelease of CHSIB, the single, if he's still planning on doing that. What does everyone think about this? Would the timing be good--early July?? Or does he need something sooner than that? Meat has already talked about releasing Did I Say That? as the second single. I was just curious how everyone thinks it will do in the UK, for instance--compared with the title cut from the album? Bart, I can't remember: Has DIST been released in your country already or just CHSIB?? If it has, how did it do? And if it hasn't, how do you think it WILL do in Holland? Love, MB xxx |
The chart is 15 not 16, An answer to all those who talk about reviews,
CHSIB the album has recieved the best reviews of any album I've ever made. The Reviewers talk about the other Bats, and compare the new album to them but their reviews of the Bats were worse. They didn't like Them. Got alot of reviews with 4 stars which a Bat record never Got, to compare Albums, Why? Any way you can't!! You can say you like one more than another that's fine but you can't compare, it is impossible. you can compare 2 apples but you can't compare an apple to a bus!! Just try an enjoy!! If you are a Meat Loaf Fan you Like all the Records, yes it's true ,some more than others. That's what makes the world go round. CHSIB is a GREAT GREAT record. And so is Bat!!!! Meat |
Fireball,
Is is true that the album has gone gold in England and Germany, with total worldwide sales of over 400,000? Very impressive, considering only the most hardcore American fans have even heard of it yet. Sherrie |
Hi, FireBall! Lovely, as always, to hear from you! Thanks for the great response!
I can't speak about apples, but I think most of us fans out here will ALWAYS have that amazing image in our heads of you and the band on top of that BUS on Oxford Street!!! Relax and enjoy the CD?? You bet! That's what most of us are doing each and every day! But you know, with this being the first new album in quite a while, plus still being 'pumped' up from all those 'energizing' promotions you've just completed, it's easy for emotions to ride high, you know?! When people come along and start to put the CD or you down--for whatever reason--it doesn't take much these days to get any of us going!! We all want and hope for the best for you! But I know that nothing makes us happier than to hear YOU are pleased with the album and with the reaction you have been receiving to it!! It does our hearts good to hear this from you!! Thanks, Meat! Hope the rehearsals are going well for you! Sending our love to everyone there!! And some especially BIG hugs to you, mister!! :D Love, MB xxx |
Kudos to Fire Ball on all the great reviews.
Of course the bad ones in the past didn't seem to hurt. Especially like the story about he was helped by being called the worst in the history of Rock & Roll, too funny. I just wish reviewers would actually sit and listen to a an album with a clear, objective mind. Hard to do granted, but all the comparsions made reveal that is not what they even attempt. Judge and enjoy, or dislike, something for what it is, at least that's what I do. I listened, I judged, I LIKE! T |
:D Hey Fire Ball sweetheart nice to see you here again!
I love the album and cant get enough of Man of Steel and CHSIB! All your other albums a great too I have enjoyed them all! I am really looking forward to hearing the new songs live in November!! Take Care Keep Rockin' Hugs Feleena x |

Oops .. ~~~~~~ed up the quote box there didn't I?.. :))))
|
I have to say out of all the meat albums, i think this is the one hardest to chose a single from. Some songs on WTTN for example sat out as being single releases but on CHSIB there is sooo many. Presuming 3 will be released as singles i think it'll be a very hard choice to find another 2 out of:
DIST, WITE, Love You Out Loud (Which Magazine critics seem to love) Man of Steel, Testify and Because of You. Personally, after a lot of consideration, id go for DIST and Testify - i feel if meat gets testify released it'll draw a lot of attention to him as it'll appeal to EVERYONE! OH AND THEN THERE'S DO IT! THATS IF NIKE GET A HOLD OF IT! |

Hopefully Meat is talking about a midweek chart postion and the album has climbed back up to 15. Sue (link is only valid until Sunday) |

Silver (200,000 sales) Gold (400,000 sales) Platignum (600,000 sales) Double Platignum (1.2 million) Whilst the US (RIAA) require 500,000 for Gold single or album and 1 mill for Platinum (US style and spelling :) ) If the UK awards are based on UK sales then it has gone Silver, but not Gold if the 400,000 is worldwide sales, and it will need to sell half a million to get a US Gold .. and whether that's based on US or worldwide sales I don't know. Anybody help out? |
Gold is 100,000
Platinum 300,000 UK Double 600,000 ML |
Hiya Fire Ball
See I told ya i always try to post under your name lol!! At the Cd signing remember!! Anyway glad to see you here and welldone with the album! Hugs Feleena x |
Thanks Fireball .. and congratulations .. it's the least you and the album deserve. Any news on the re-release of the single which you mentioned a couple of weeks ago? Mercury haven't responded on that .. although they did replace my two copies of the album .... :)
Well hey now promo guys Who needs you? The album just went platinum, my concerts sold out too Driven crazy by a Mercury I was maddened by a Mercury So I hitched my pants and hired a bus And drove that s-u-c-k-e-r down the road! (aaah .. finally we got past Nanny!!) May your star never falter Meat xo |
CHSIB has gone up 2 places this week on the UK official album chart to #14 - 1 place above Madonna's American Life!
|
That's good to hear, because here in the netherlands it's not doing well.
To bad, eventhough radiostations are playing CHSIB... Asha |
No. 14's not too bad and woohoo it's infront of Madonna :D
|
thats great news. although we dont seem to be hearing too much airplay over here.
|
:D Hey Meat you are above Madonna rock and roll dreams come through for you!!!!!!!!!!
Hugs Feleena xxxxx |
For some reason, the fact that it's one above Madonna thrills the heck out of me! She is from the same hometown as my Dad, and in Truth or Dare she actually rolls around on the ground at the cemetary where my great grandparents (and her mum, as well) are buried. I've always been a bit distressed by that scene! Moving up two places is certainly a good thing- maintain that momentum for two weeks and boom, back in the top 10!

 Congrats Meat :D .
Hopefully it will continue to creep back up the charts. |
yeah, congrats meat, it'll be in the charts for ages yet, no doubt about it!
|
do you think that after a few concerts have bein done, there will be more sales?? i hope so.
|
I believe that this album is gonna shoot up the charts again - don't ask me why - I've just had a dream
|
absolutely, i'm ashamed to admit that i've never been to meat gig before & i can't wait till november! but, i hope there'll be cds & merchandise on sale, there usually is is'nt there?
whatever, cd sales always pick up on the back of a tour. |
im gettinm m e a summer job n buyin as much stuff as i can from the sheffield 29th gig!!
|
still at 14 in charts
|
2 outta 6.............
is what Norwegian music journalists give this new album. It hasn't been played on the radio here at all. And not reach any chart here either. I think that's so sad  AnneBeth |
thats so unfair!!!
|
MVC Hounslow have CHSIB at No. 12
|
In Germany the album is #62 this week
Keep Rockin' Eva |
i went into HMV yesturday and they had it placed at 16 or 17 and at MVC they had it at 12 while madonna was placed at either 20 or 19 in both shops!! :D
|
"CHSIB" has dropped to #20 in this weeks UK Official Album Chart.
He's still 2 places above Madonna! |
MMHH, some bad news topped off with some good news.
To bad it fell 6 places..... Good that it's still above madonna Asha |

The album is selling pretty good in Europe. I read at Mirror of the Soul it has sold over 500.000 copies. Thank you, Jules! It still has to be released in Italy and France. Not bad at all!!! Sorry, don't know the Dutch chart-position. Edited this message, looked for the Dutch chart-position. #87  Still, doing very well accros Europe. Great day to all of you, Mariella |

|

|

|

|
Does anybody know the latest chartpositions?
|
 For what it's worth,HMV has got CHSIB at No.28 in their charts.
|
Down one place to #26 on the official album charts this week.
Apparently it sadly dropped out of the German top 100. Sue http://www.KasimInfo.com |
How great it's still in the top 30 !! :)))))
|
Sure, it can just hover there for a bit, then shoot right back up to the Top Ten after the Party in the Park in July. Sound like a plan?
Sherrie |
In Germany CHSIB it out of the top 100 charts this week!
   Keep Rockin' Eva |
The single being rereleased is certain to help the album chart position.
|
i hope so!!
|
i hope so too.
|
Bad news this week......
The album has dropped out of the Official UK Album Charts which were announced on Sunday (the official charts only list the Top 40 albums). In the UK Rock Singles Chart the single has also dropped out of the charts. The album is down 4 places to #15 in the Rock Album Charts. Sue http://www.KasimInfo.com |
Still, there's still a lot to be optomistic about :D .Singles released, party in the park, the upcoming tour... Hopefully this will bring the album back up. |
 v sad now
|
Back to phoning and emailing to get it played .. putting posters up .. let's get more sold :))
|
That's sad news Sue..thanks for updting though
Asha |
I think meat is quit happy with 500,000 copies, depsite of the albumcharts.
|
I have noticed this week that MVC and Amazon are selling the album at a reduced price now. Hope this may encourage non-Meat fans to give it a try. Wishful thinking?
|
Hopefully a LOT will sell at Plymouth and Party in the Park .. and when they take it home they'll tell others who weren't lucky enough to be at the concerts ..
Perhaps this is when the promised PR campaign from Mercury will kick in? Some nice gas-filled balloons in bright colours with Meat booting someone up the bum? :)) |

Album took a fall this week although still in the Top 40 Rock Albums. Good news is that it's on the way up on Tesco's top sellers list . Some concerted efforts to get it airtime, plus Meat's promotional appearances at the end of the week and the 2 concerts might help it on it's way back up the national charts

I wouldn't think there would be a problem getting it into the millions by the time it's out around the world. It may not come up to the 14/15 million you quote, but I would imagine it would be quite respectable for the times, depending, as always, on the effectiveness of the Record Companies' promotions country-by-country (don't have to question Meat's effectiveness in his promotions--he ALWAYS is!! 8) ). Here in the US, though, we Meaty fans are going to give it a good shot--no matter what the Label does!! We're ready and raring to go!! :D Love, MB xxx |
It looks like CHSIB has dropped way down the official album charts this week as even in the official Rock Album charts it dropped from 15 to #39.
Interestingly BOOH is a re-entry at #32 (on the Epic lable) but remember this is only the ROCK album charts not the proper album charts. Sue http://www.KasimInfo.com |
And now some good news....!
In the official charts that were announced on Sunday, the single CHSIB is a re-entry at #36 in the Rock Singles Charts and the album is up from #39 to #34 in the Rock Album Charts. BOOH is up from #32 to #29. I would guess that this is mainly due to the Patrick Kielty Show but please remember that this is only the ROCK charts. None of these are anywhere near the proper Top 40. Sue http://www.KasimInfo.com |

i guess the lable only give a shit about bon ~~~~ing jovi as they only seem to be promoting their stuff... nothings happening with the 're-released' single and the shops know nothing about it...
There must be something in one of the contracts for them to promote this... |
are we back to square one agen?!?
|
I certainly hope not Testify!
When I heard about the re-release I thought they would pull out all the stops to ensure it got to the no.1 spot that it deserved. But there doesn't seem to be much happening on the promotion front. You'd think they'd get it right second time around, have they learnt nothing! :x |
doubt it! but they do say 3rd time lucky?? damn ppl have no brains!!
|
More good news ....!
In the official charts that were announced today, the single CHSIB has gone up 10 places to #26 in the Rock Singles Charts and the album is up from #34 to #14 in the Rock Album Charts. BOOH is up one place to #28. Please remember that this is only the ROCK charts. None of these are anywhere near the proper Top 40. Sue http://www.KasimInfo.com |
Sounds good though.
Going up in the Rock Charts is still better then nothing Asha |
