Default A record that, for me, stands with the top ten recordings of ALL TIME!

As requested, here's Jim's view on "Braver Than We Are".

I haven't heard it yet, I only heard Souvenirs and GATW (the short version).

I'll wait till september, the original release date to hear the rest.
I am very excited!

The album is phenomenal, I heard it a few times while it was on iTunes and it absolutely blew me away. I can't wait to get the CD versions to hear the bonus tracks. Thank you for recording "Loving You's a Dirty Job", its one of my favorite of Jim's songs!!

The sample of Skull Of Your Country is amazing. I didn't think recontextualising elements of such a well-known song would work as well as it does. The percussion and the vocal arrangements are stunning. Can't wait for the whole thing.

The 429 records sample of Loving you is a dirty job sounds so much better than the bits I heard of the song before.

I can't really get on with it, as I keep expecting it to move into a burst of 'Every now and then I fall apart' !

I think that's partially the problem with the song - it predates Total Eclipse by about 20 years but because that song is known everywhere its always going to draw comparisons. To me it's like a second child being constantly compared to the first born...to me they are two different children from the same parent.

you were right. The arrangement was wrong for the mood of the song. Your version definitely nailed it

"Everything Jim writes goes into Neverland" That's what Meat said and that's why it shows...like in the other post, its all part of one massive tapestry.

I think the more I hear the samples, I'm understanding even less why a few complained about vocals? They all seem perfect for what Meat and Jim wanted?
I'm liking the production also, only heard small clips but loving all the backing vocals and little sounds here and there

On the whole, nikox1, I'm inclined to agree with you ... There's a couple of minor things I'm not happy with (eg, running order - 'Train Of Love' is not a 'closer' track, for me), but then, I'm hardly ever completely satisfied with any album ! .........
