Default 107. Running Away From Me

This is the START OUT OF HELL & ARRIVE TO HEAVEN topic.
Let's Go to Rock 'n' Roll!!!!!!!

Running Away From Me (5)

I really hate the start of the song. Too primitive melody to me. Like a bad MATLAF song. I like the massive chorus in the second part but this song is still an 'easy-listening chewing gum'.

My score: 5

The first 2 minutes are brilliant. It starts to go down hill after that.

6 for me.

Too much "lalala" and too many repetitions in the lyrics.

My least fave on HCTB, those lalala are annoying, not the worst Meat song but nothing special either,

Great fun light rock song, and I'm another fan of the lalalas! I also love the "I said needed room to breath" bit with the gothic backing vocals and then Meat letting rip.

8.5.

Like it, and get it. One more brilliant track, perfectly positioned after the raunchy lyrics of California seem to suggest that if love is impossible to enjoy without hurt, then lust is the answer.

It was for me the hardest song to understand, as the character begins to understand what love and life are about, but for me conveys the futility of depending on the love of someone else to work if you don't know yourself, so you need self-understanding and acceptance before you can truly love and value being loved; you can run away from love but not yourself. After the hard and violent feelings of the previous track it delivers realisation and a level of redemption.

Can't fault it. 10.

9 It is a sense of madness (not Song Of Madness style) but the inner thought process was a bit madenning in a brilliant way. This song oozes coolness while dealing with the struggle of figuring out love. Great song. Only pitched it a 9 due to my excessive love of other songs...so it's my benchmark of separating my own love of song. Turns out I was running from them. LOL!

Yes but Steinman songs are usually complex and long enough. Running Away From Me is a rather simple, short song. It's less than 4 minutes long and the lyrics are dominated by "lalalalalala" and "I said I needed room to breathe".

This is a real solid song actually. Solid vocal delivery from Mister Loaf! This music is solid. A nice rock arrangement & the music and voice don't sound like they are so far apart from one another, example TMIL the song
Even lyrically I enjoy it, this record has so much to it; including power & when I hear it I wish he never stops making records. I like the LaLa's could be a real crowd pleaser. I can see them up on the big screen LA LA LA LA, LA LA and all the people sing along.

9 Awesome tune

This song has some querks that I am not fond of.

It also has some things that i CRAVE MORE OF!

Ex. When he lets it rip at the end, why can't we have more of that? :P He sounds like he's ~~~~ing 20 years younger!
