Thank you :)

It sounds samey. The guy with the gruff voice has tried to emulate Bonnie Tyler. It would have worked better had they not skirted around the high notes. I was sat waiting patiently to see which one of them was going to sing the falsetto part. Never happened

Just to clarify:-

Jim Steinman is not involved with this. He was asked to provide an alternative remix which was rejected. Hopefully one day we'll get to hear it, but this doesn't look likely. So I repeat: Jimmy IS NOT involved.

If he was asked and made the alternative version, even if it wasn't used, he's co operating and showing he's cool with the idea.

Commercial crap like West (sorry, I have a hard time even typing their name) is complete ANATHEMA to what Rock is all about.

It's self serving crap with little or no purpose, and it's sole purpose is to put money in some suit pocket.

i'm not talking about their singing..they can sing

i just hate bands and singers who resort to covering tried and tested songs instead of coming up with something original...some of their early original stuff is fine but i hate this bandwagon jumping, our songs arent selling anymore,so we'll take our pick from everyone else's attitude.

1st cover fine,2nd cover fine i could even tolerate a 3rd cover but they are really taking the pee now..i've lost count how many singles they have released that are covers

youre right Zina

The thing that annoys me with that version (as with every boygroup stuff) is the complete lack of emotion.
How can you sing a song like that so flat???

I know some people with really great voices, from my time as choir boy. They hear a song, and hit every note perfectly, but they do it as it would be a craft-job. They dont understand the meaning of the songs or get moved by the melody, etc.
Iīd prefer 1000000times a singer with a crap voice, hitting every 10th note, but mediation the emotion!

That really makes me angry!

What manner of utter bollocks is THAT????????

Anyone???????

Throw me a bone here????????????

They look like 5 scrufft twits who have gone down the karaoke at the local on a Friday night.

Their voices are crap.
Too much fecking what to them I supose is "emotion" but to me sounds like a Britney Spears tribute act gargling.

Westcrap are RUBBISH.

They've always been rubbish.

Why can't they stay over there and be rubbish?

Why do they have to come and pick up our songs and be rubbish with them.

YouTube Video

Well Nikki IS starting to look a bit "tired" now.
She looks a bit like the enthusiastic auntie who gets up on the mic at every family occasion to do her party piece.

The thing (I won't call it beat or anything musical) behind the initial tune of the song just doesn't match at all.
It's out of time, out of tune, and out of style with the whole song.

But hey...most boy bands can dance...

Can't find anything else to say...could have said that they might be eye candy sometimes...but they just don't swing THAT way for the most part...

yes she does have good voice,a little like bonnie's methinks

and the dj has done a really good job it's a well practiced trick amongst dj's to take an old song, speed it up,put a generic beat behind it which can be found on any 'floorfillers' album. now a real dj would put their mark on it not someone elses beat but what do i know

Do not even fecking mention my version of Totale Finsternis in the same thread as these fecking assholes

Not that my version of Totale Finsternis was very good, or acurate (hey, it's what you get when you have 2 weeks to learn a duet in a foreign language over skype, then on the big day spending nearly 6 hours on a coach to get to London where you sing yourself horse trying to get it right), but it WAS sung in context, and by someone who actually digs the material.

these assholes have had a song picked for them with the standing order "go into that booth, record that, make me shit loads of money".

Hell, it might not be the best version of the song ever done, but at least it was an honest one.

Not what these feckers do

Maybe Meat could save us by releasing another single from Bat. I don't know...say...Bad For Good... [Catherine makes a face indicating she's been thinking BFG all along]...around the same time, maybe a couple of days after, and go
Now THIS is what a Steinman song is supposed to sound like!!!!!!

EXACTLY.

To me rock is more than music and lyrics.

It's more than a sum of it's parts.

It's something deep, special, and sincere.

This stuff is just MsDonalds music, created by the suit, performed by the dumb, packaged by the indifferent, and bought by the sheep.

It has no artistic merit, very little value, and no real substance whatsoever.

In a world where emotion is portrayed by gargling, we know we ain't in Kansas anymore

Here you go.

As I say, not brilliant, but under the circumstances, not bad for a first ever shot at singing it.
