The Lincoln Lawyer - was pretty good, well it must have been pretty good 'cos hubby stayed awake throughout, but having just re-read the book, I wouldn't have cast Matthew McConnaughey or William H. Macy in it....

Jo and I watched The Three Amigos on DVD on Friday night, then when we put the TV back on after the movie, Anna Nicole Smith - the opera, was just starting (I shit you not).
It was acually bloody good. I'm not a fan of opera sung in English (and Jo's not an opera fan at all lol) but we both really enjoyed it. J Howard Marshall had the best entrance I have ever seen It was very well sung, and a lot of it was creally very funny. I wouldn't mind seeing it live. |

Le meurtrier - old crime thriller with Gert "Goldfinger" Fröbe
In Harm's Way - WWII movie from 1965 about the attack on Pearl Harbor, more drama than war movie and not as exciting as expected, yet better than Pearl Harbor Thunderball - one of those classic Bond movies that are so much more entertaining than the Daniel Craig "Bond" flicks |

Righteous Kill...
not the best of films unfortunately but for what little good there is in the plot is made up of Pacino and De Niro saving it. |

Quantum Of Solace. The first time I saw it I thought it was an incomprehensible mess and my view hasn't changed. There are some good action sequences and there's probably a decent film in there somewhere, but the 'trendy' camera work makes it too hard to follow what's going on.

I felt the same way, but now each time I see it I like it more. Daniel Craig and Judi Dench are awesome, and the action is amazing. But there's too much of it, or at least not enough of the nice slow bits which James Bond needs, and not enough humour imho. They are not action films and not Bourne films and never should be. |

As a Julia Roberts fan, I might be biast but I like this one, it was on the telly again tonight and I thought, 'not watched the DVD in awhile so I'll watch it.' It's not my favourite of Julia's films but it's not bad either. You have to feel sorry for her character who's in a controlled marriage where she can't do anything incase it's wrong or seen to be wrong or she'll get a beating. Laura decided to fake her own death and for a short period of time it appeared to work till her violent husband spots her wedding band in the toilet, he then makes it his mission to find her. |

Alien 3
Somewhat miffed that the digibox didn't record Alien: Resurrection for me a few weeks ago! |

I think Alien 3 is very under rated. I've only seen the more recent special edition but thought it was excellent.perhaps some of the criticism is because it's a much less epic film than Aliens.
Resurrection has some classic moments but is so different in tone compared to the others and has some real dodgy moments that it doesn't quite work for me. |

Velocity of Gary (Not His Real Name) ... starring Vincent D'Onofrio as a bi-sexual ex-porn star who dies of AIDS. I could never see what all the VDO fans were on about when they were gaga over how sexy VDO is in this film... I only saw stills and thought ... "tuh" and perhaps "uh oh" as well... lol ... however... one MUST see him moving about in this film to get it... if you're only going to watch because you find VDO to be sexy... as I do ... you will, too... I laughed a bit, I cried a bit... and have now watched it three times ... I like it... aLOT ... ...

Top Gun on late night TV. I admit I love that movie, even if people call it corny and cheesy, etc.

Last movie I saw in the theater was Shrek 2.
I have a really hard time keeping to one thing at a time so even though Hubby and the kids have watched movies a lot, I think the last one I actually paid attention to was Secret Smile. |

Scream 4...wasn't bad and it is worth seeing for the last 15 minutes alone but nothing in terms of the suspense and anticipation of the first film.
The American, a little slow but it develops into a really good film and well worth seeing, the more I see Mr Clooney's films the more I appreciate him as an actor. |
