The Rare Songs: 29. Keeper Keep Us
Rare Songs: Keeper Keep Us
Wow!! This song is great, especially the lyrics!! It's one of the best lyrics, I've ever heard! The melody, the guitars, that song is an amazing masterpiece! It's the best rare song! It was part on the album of The Intergalactic Touring Band in 1977 and it's a disaster that this song wasn't part on BOOH! Meat, please sing it in the concert on November 5th in Berlin! Pleaaase!!! Do it, for me!! This song is a diamond, written by God!! 10/10 |

Oh, I have forgotten one of my fav song!
I can speak about this song in superlativus. The best rare song and one of the best song ever. When I listened it first I didn't believe it. Great orchestra and fantastic emotions are coming out of this song. Meat's voice is one of the best. It's a bomb. Perhaps don't listen some albums but you have to hear this song. I won't give 11 cause it's a little bit short! If it was longer I'd say this is the 2nd best Meat Loaf song. But I think it is on the Top10 list. Meat! Please will be this song's longer version the bonus track on the BOOH3. I know it's not a Jim Steinman song but it will be a rockhistorical product of all time! P.s.: Are there some similar song on Intergalactic Touring Band CD? My score: 10 Average: 9.67 (29/3) |

How anyone could have missed this song is totally beyond me. I have had the LP for some years, and recently the album got released on CD too! Jay!
From all the "rare" songs, I find this one to be one of the best. Released on the 1977 titleless album by the Intergalactic Touring Band, this song is a real gem. Not written by God however, but by Danny Beckerman - and no, it should not have been on Bat, cause musically they have nothing in common. A little "For Crying Out Loud" you say? I fail to see the similarities, other than that both are the last track on the album. I would describe IGTB as late 70s prog-rock, lots of synths and beautiful guitar melodies. Overall, I find the album not that consistent in quality, there are some great tracks, and some lesser ones. "Approach (Overture)" is a beautiful orchestral arrangement which could have been used on any Star Trek/Wars movie, and both "Starship Jingle" and "Heartbreaker" are slightly funky uptempo numbers. Overall I enjoy the faster tracks better than the ballads, "Keeper Keep Us" being the exception to the rule. Interesting fact: the album was produced by Marty Scott and Stephan Galfas, who would later produce Dead Ringer, while Larry Fast plays synths. For a rating, I'd say 9/10. And for the record: I don't consider it to be Meat's 2nd best song. It's plain silly to pronounce it the 2nd best with only two votes, just as it's silly to give songs a rating of 11/10. Doesn't make sense, at least not to me. But that's an entirely different discussion :-) |
