Some former members shined brighter than others. Pat Thrall comes to mind. I'm not really sad about any of their departures because the current NLE is so great. I wouldn't change a thing.

Why are the Goffs always referred to as one entity? I guess because individually, neither one was impressive. Neither Amy or Elaine is a strong vocalist or actress. I thought all the female vocalists in the 80's were rather unimpressive.

I have to disagree. Especially on The Meltdown concert, particularly Modern Girl.

Goffs sounded great inho. Amy on DRFL and Elaine on paradise really had some great chemistry with Meat.

I dare say Elaine in some aspects is the best counterpart meat has ever had.

Amy did Paradise and Elaine did Dead Ringer. I never really thought the chemistry was believable. And Patti is far better, imo.

Ah, guess any female singer with the NLE who isn't Patti is no good eh?

No, Karla was great. I thought she had believable chemistry with Meat.

Karla I didn't like too much. mostly because I found her unattractive.

Her voice wasn't a killer either IMHO and the chemistry seemed forced.

I guess everyone looked a bit strange in the 70's- the hairstyles and odd clothing.

I think it was just strange makeup. In recent interviews, I think she looks better now than she did when she was younger.

Wink Oh, Choices!

Well, y,all know my #1 miss. However, I do believe that Patti was/is the most talented singer/actress Meat has ever worked with. She is style with a capital "S". Also, miss Jimmy as Meat seemed to truly enjoy his presence. If you can stand one more opinion...Mark Alexander is one heck of a pianist--rock...ballad...whatever. Chopped liver does not come from the Eastman School of Music. So there, as always IMHO. Oh,I forgot one--Bobby Kulick - he always seemed so much fun (besides the musicianship).

Very few of the ladies over the years have had "killer" voices. Patti and Aspen are the only ones with truly exceptional vocal ranges. Others have been good, but not phenomenal. Meat doesn't accept "good"; he wants to give the audience "amazing".

Really though, why are we all wasting time looking back? The current band is perfection and there is a new album and tour on the way. We should be looking forward and celebrating.

Smile Why Look Back

I guess we are looking back here because this is the location where we do those things...Lost Boys, etc. Anyway, it is a hobby of the "ancient and afflicted" to spend time in reminiscence (sp?).

Same here Steve and Pat were both really great players, and whilst not knocking any of Meat's female singers, Patti has always stood out for me as she and Meat have a chemistry on stage that is truly exceptional; more so than any of those who preceded her imo.

Because for me it's always been Meat Loaf and his band rather than Meat Loaf THE band, I've always expected there to be changes in the line-up over the years, and the current one is so phenomenal I wouldn't change anything either. John has always been superb, the guitar line-up is exceptional, Dave on sax makes a superb addition, and to me Justin is simply the best and most electrifying pianist I've heard in the NLE.

Top of the miss you list - Steve Buslowe! I 've missed Steve since the day he left, no one has come near to being able to replace him! I saw him for the last time at Loreley and even though there have been great shows since, I always hated seeing Kasim up there in his spot. But then I never liked Kasim - not sad that he has left1

I've only seen Steve Buslowe on videos (never live). Kasim is a talented musician in his own right, but as they say, change is a good thing, and I prefer Danny

I can ditto on that one (big surprise). Did you or do you know a lady named Sabine who used to really like Steve. I think she was at the same concert you mention. Now, that's a one in a million stab!! Well, maybe not a million !
