Yeah it was really cool hearing his favorite albums in order. I love it. I really hope he gets back to his physiotherapy. Since he is going to conventions with tons of people, I hope that means he plans to go to PT. If he could get his balance and strength back enough to do stairs, maybe he'd be able to do some storytellers-type shows.

Very rare for Meat to mention Bad Attitude....
Has Meat even performed any of the songs from the Bad Attitude album since the mid 90s? Modern Girl perhaps? Would have loved to see him perform Bad Attitude and Piece of the Action... Piece of the Action very similar song to Blind as a Bat imo |

Link The rest of the album never made it out of the 80s apparently. Shame. Sometimes I think the popularity of Bat was somewhat of a burden during tours. In addition to all the times I heard the full Bat album live in the last tour I would have loved to have heard other full albums live also: Bad Attitude, Welcome to The Neighbourhood, Couldn't have Said it Better and of course Bat 2 especially. It still surprises me Teddy Bear is rated so much by Meat and fans here. I just don't think the songs work (except for Song of Madness and the first Prize Fight Lover B side / download - whatever you want to call it, those are excellent). I think a full album play through of that album would have been exhausting for the audience. It was very evident the 4 songs played live just didn't gain much traction beyond the hard core fans at the shows I went to. Everyone beyond the first few rows always sat down. I think an album such as Bad Attitude has far more satisfying moments musically and lyrically than something like Teddy Bear, that would have worked well if played in its entirety at live shows. Trouble is, a huge percentage of the concert-going public are not even what I'd call fans. The amount of times I've been at Meat Loaf concerts over the years and been surrounded by people who only know 'Bat Out of Hell' and 'Anything For Love'... everything else has them stumped.
You do wonder what the hell they're doing there in the first place (mostly talking between themselves for 95% of the time, or checking social media on their phones). So I guess artists risk a huge backlash if they don't stick to the well-known hits, when the more serious fans would prefer a good mix of some of the overlooked songs from across the decades. |

The Hang Cool Tour had many hits, some new songs and different arrangements of more songs.
Rock N Roll dreams with Paul using 12 string guitar. That entire night was excellent! You can never please everyone. Was my first ML concert and they was awesome. Meat and band jam like no one else. Great musicians awesome setlist. No complaints. |

I'd have to say Meat does a lot better than many singers at mixing the new stuff with the classics when it comes to concerts.
Some artists (mentioning no names) stick so slavishly to the old stuff that you wouldn't even know they'd released anything in the past 3 decades. |
