85. The Monster Is Loose
This is the START OUT OF HELL & ARRIVE TO HEAVEN topic.
Let's Go to Rock 'n' Roll!!!!!!! The Monster Is Loose (7) Welcome back to this section. I was banned for a long-long time but I am happy for nobody has started this series. The first song what was released on internet at first is The Monster Is Loose. That was a big surprise for everybody beacuse it showed us a new Meat Loaf style what is close to new-metal (numetal). Everybody was screaming that what a f*** is that? Now, after some months maybe we can see impartial. This song is a good entrance song. The intro is nice (but Monstro or Storm would be better) but the start and end part of this song is incredible stupid. Meat Loas is late with this style, now nobody's talking about new-metal. It's not his style, this 'I am an old fashion guy because you have to love my music' style is not his style. The middle of the song is good, really good. It looks like Steinman. Well... after listen a lot this CD I have to say this song is really new, not oldies Meat Loaf but I will never like it better than any Steinman songs... My score: 7 Average: 7.50 Last edited by White of High; 01 Dec 2006 at 19:08. |

I actually think it is really a good song!
It is really what the whole album is about, the monster is loose, it sums the whole meaning of the album up. 8 |

I didn't like this one at all when I first heard it, but I have grown to like it alot. One reason, the live performance at RAH in October. This song was mighty! The live performance got me into the song and now I love hearing it. Not the best as a recording but 7/10 on CD, 10/10 live.

Am not too keen on this one. Nothing wrong with it, just not my cup of tea.

Because I'm too lazy to come up with something new, I'll just copy/paste from my earlier review:
The album kicks of with the title track. Since it leaked out in May, I've listened to "The Monster Is Loose" quite a lot, and although it's different from everything Meat Loaf has done before, I liked it from the start. It's different, and that's not a bad thing. It's heavy, the bridge is great, lyrics are a tad on the weak side, but over all, great song. 8/10 |

It's different from what Meat's done before; it's heavy, and it showcases his voice to perfection.

Once again more criticism from White On High, you have to wondor if he's really a Meat Loaf fan.
This is an awesome track, more hard rock than anything Meat has done before, the performance is excellant, you can really hear the emotion raging through Meat as he gets stuck into this song, you can tell when a performer enjoys a song like here. The dramatic sweeping music comes together with Meats vocal performnace perfectly. 9 out of 10 |

You can't really compare Crying Out Loud with Monsters Loose, they are totally different types of songs.

Monstro should be the intro to the song and album.
I like the overall sound of the song. I don't think this song is a different style. The middle section is great, great backing tracks. I miss a part right before the chorus. All in all. Nice song. 7/10. |

Good song, slightly marred by the vocoder effects and the embarrassing YEEEAAH's at the end.

Have loved this one from the first time I listened to it. Something new and fresh, just brilliant. Who mentioned metal? you must be kidding, right?
Too bad it wasn't the first single... 10/10 |
